Smith continue as the City's <br />representati ve on the Capital Area Planning Council. Mr. <br />DelaRosa moved that Mr. Smith continue as the City's repre- <br />sentativeon CAPC. M~. King seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development had approved a ' grant to the City of <br />San Marcos for a Code Enforcement Program. <br /> <br />Warren Leddick, Acting City' Manager, in answer to enquiries, <br />said the women seen riding in police cars were police cadets. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />In other business, Mr. L:eddick read a letter from the Highway <br />Department concerning a request the City had made for paving <br />and widening the stretch of state road between near the Aqua- <br />rena gate and over the bridge to near Moon Street. This would <br />include raising and widening the bridge over the San Marcos <br />River. Cost to the Ci tywould be $62,000. The Highway Depart- <br />ment had agreed to do *he work; providing they received official <br />notice from the City. The financial aspect was discussed. <br />Mr. Smith moved that the City accept the Highway Department's <br />offer, the $62,000 to be divided jn ~be 1971~1971 fiscal years. <br />Mrs. Emery sec<:>nded the motion. Mrs. DeLaRosa was given a ticket for not having her <br />dri vel'" S license. Mr. De LaRosa explained thecircumstill!lces. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Council recessed to reconvene the Executive Session at <br />6:30 p.m., May 27, 1971, when further enquiry would be made. <br />
