<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />.Cotincilma'n Etheredge gave the InVocation.
<br />
<br />The Mayor introduced the Minutes of May 24 &27, 1971 ,and called
<br />attention to the omission of the word "Bluebonnet" on page one,
<br />and an error in a figure on page three. The City Secretary noted
<br />the corrections. Mrs. Emery moved approval of the May 24 & 27
<br />Minutes, as corrected. Mr. Etheredge seconded~he motion, which
<br />passed unanimously.
<br />Mr. King moved approval of the' public hearing and meeting, June 2,
<br />as presented. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, which passed
<br />unanimously.
<br />
<br />The, Mayor asked City Engineer James E. BYr'nto present tabulations
<br />on bids received on two projects: the City's extension of utilities
<br />toCrestwood Subdivision; and the ut'ilities to be constructed within
<br />the subdivision. Alamo Contractors, Inc. and Tim Dorsett Ditching
<br />Service were the oniy bidders. Mr. Byrnexplained some discrepancies
<br />in the Dorsett bid, one being his failure to sign the bid.
<br />Mr. Byrn pointed out that Tim Dorsett's bid on the subdivision
<br />construction was $47,328.90; and Alamo's, $49,763.00. Dorsett's
<br />bid on the extension of City lines was $31,616.15, and Alamo'&,
<br />$24,910.00. Totals for *he combined bids showed Alamo ~ith a
<br />totalof'$74,673.00, and Dorsett, $78,945.03. The bid tabulation
<br />'is attached.
<br />Mr . King' moved that Alamo Contractors, Inc. be awarded both
<br />contracts for a low total bid of $74,673.00. Mr. Etheredge seconded
<br />the motion.
<br />W.S. Rader, owner-developer of Crest wood Subdivision, who would
<br />share with the City the cost of the work within the subdivision,
<br />was recognized by the Mayor. He stated he ~hought the Developer
<br />should have something to say about the,lletting of the,bid"and
<br />added: "It means $2,000 difference to' Bill Rader'". After discussion
<br />of the difference on the separate bids and the totals on the whole
<br />project, the question was called for, and the following vote recorded:
