<br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance amending th~ zoning map
<br />to show a change on Lt. 6, A.B. Rogers Addition, owned by
<br />Dan Nevare.,jr. Mr. Etheredge moved passage of the ordinance
<br />on ftrstreading. Mrs. Emery seconded the motion, and on roll
<br />call, the following vote was recorded:

<br />The Mayor declared the ordinance passed on first reading.

<br />Harry Jewett, of Clifford Cason Associates, appeared before the
<br />Council to explain the necessity~ofappro~al bfa Resolution on
<br />relocation, as a revision to the Code Enforcement Program. The
<br />matter was discussed. Mr. Deta Rosa moved approval of the Reso-
<br />lution. Mr. King seconded the motion, and on roll call, the
<br />following vote was recorded:

<br />The Mayorodeclared the Resolution pas~ed. If will be inserted
<br />as parfof the official Code Ehfor'cementProgram Binder.

<br />Jack Major, City Building Inspector, came before the Counbil to
<br />request adoption of the 1971 Edition of the Minimum Housi ng Code.
<br />He expla{ned that the Code was essentially the same as the one
<br />~owin effect, except for re~nu~bering of some sections, and a
<br />feW minor changes. The latest ~dition is required for ,approval
<br />of the Wor'kable Program, ~hich must be,submitted to th~ Depart-
<br />ment of Housing ~nd Urban Development for ~~proval before October 1,
<br />1971. The ordinance adopting the 1971 Code had been prepared for
<br />emergency passage, because of the time element, but Councilmen ob-
<br />jected to the emergency clause.
<br />Councilman King moved adoption of the 197rEditio~ of the Minimum
<br />Housing Code, on ,first r'eading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion,
<br />and on roll call, the following vote was recorded:

<br />The Mayor declared the ordinance passed on first reading.

<br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution formally accepting the Texas
<br />Highway 'Department's agreement to make improvements on Loop 82,
<br />including a new and higher br'idge over the San Marcos River. This
<br />had been requested bytheCi ty of San Marcos. and the CitY Council
<br />had voted to accept ~he offer on May 24, 1971, as reflected in the
<br />Minutes. Mr. King moved approval of the Resolution, as prepared
<br />by the Highway Department. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion,
<br />which passed unanimously.

<br />Mr. King moved that Mrs. Jack Weather'ford be appointedt6 the
<br />Planning & Zoning Commission, to fill the vacancy created by the
<br />resignation ofo Robert Elder. Mrs. Emery seclitnded the mot on.
<br />There was discussion about the polic~ of the Counc~l dnh bmission
<br />of names for appointment. On roll call, the following vo e was
