<br />:J <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, INTO SAID CITY <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owner of a strip of land not exceeding one-half <br />(!) mile in width, being contiguous and ad.iacent to the present <br />residents, quali~ied to vote for members of the State Legislature, <br />has petitioned the City of San Marcos to annex said strip of land <br />within the municipal limits, a copy of said petition being hereto <br />attached, marked "Exhibit A", and made a part hereof for all pert~ <br />inent purposes; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San Marcos <br />to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of <br />San Marcos, Texas, that said strip of land, hereinafter described <br />by metes and bounds, be and the same hereby is, received as a part <br />of the City of San Marcos, and the corporate limits of the City of <br />San Marcos are hereby extended so as to include said strip of land, <br />and from henceforth the territory so received and annexed shall be <br />a part of the City of San Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts <br />and ordinances of said City, in accordance with law. <br /> <br />SAID STRIP OF LAND IS DESCRIBED AS: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"All that certain lot of ground out of the J.W. Berry <br />Survey in Hays County, Texas, and being a part of a <br />two (2) acre block reserved to Patsy SmileI' in deed <br />from her and others to Will G. Barber dated Aug. 7, 1909, <br />recorded in Book 63, pages 55-58, Hays County Deed Records, <br />wherein said 2 acres is described. The piece of the two <br />acres conveyed hereby is 137 feet wide NW & Sf by 148 feet <br />10n!'fSW & NE. The most SE line is 191 feet from and parallel <br />to the most SE line of said two acres, which last named line <br />is also the NW line of the Holland tract.
