The Mayor closed the hearing and read the <br />caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND <br />USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY <br />23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF <br />RE-PLATTED LOTS 392, 395, 396, 41l, 412, AND 413 <br />IN BLOCK 17 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION, NOW LISTED <br />AS LOTS 3, 5, AND 7, AND LOCATED BETWEEN DELMAR, <br />FURMAN AND EARLE STREETS, FROM "R-2" (DUPLEX) TO <br />"M" (MIXED). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Cunningham moved the ordinance be tabled. Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion. It was noted that the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission had recommended denial of this change. <br />The motion passed unanimously and the ordinance was tabled. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock opened a Public Hearing to consider a change- <br />of zoning on property located at 116 Lamar Street from <br />"R-I" to "M". Mrs. Wickersham spoke in favor of the <br />ordinance and explained why she wanted the change. Mr. Roy <br />Guest spoke against the change. The Mayor closed the <br />hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF ABSTRACT TWO, TRACT 37, LOT SIZE <br />85 FEET X 114 FEET IN THE T.J. CHAMBERS ADDITION, <br />LOCATED AT 116 LAMAR STREET, FROM "R-I" (SINGLE FAMILY <br />RESIDENTIAL) TO "M" (MIXED). <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton made a motion to deny the request. Dr. Craddock I <br />seconded the motion. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission recommended denial by way of a three to three split <br />vote. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTENTION: <br /> <br />Craddock <br />Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Flores, Sutton <br />Hansen <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion defeated to deny the ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Cunningham moved that the ordinance be approved. Mr. Flores <br />seconded the motion.
