<br />33 <br /> <br />regular meeting, august 26, 1974, page four <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance on second <br />reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DEDICATING A CERTAIN TRACT OF REALTY FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF A PUBLIC MUSEUM; SAID TRACT TO BE USED FOR A <br />MUSEUM, CONSTRUCTED UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE TEXAS <br />MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC.; PROVIDING FOR THE BUILDING TO <br />BE COMPLETED WITHIN FIVE (5) YEARS FROM THE EFFECTIVE <br />DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER I <br />OF SAN MARCOS TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS WITH <br />TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC. AND TO TAKE ALL STEPS NECES- <br />SARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENTS AND PURPOSES EXPRESSED HEREIN. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. <br />Flores seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance on third <br />and final reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING PORTIONS OF MATTHEWS <br />STREET IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; RELINQUISHING TO <br />JAMES H. McCROCKLIN AND DR. ARLEIGH B, TEMPLETON ALL <br />RIGHT, TITLE, AND INTEREST OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS IN <br />AND TO SUCH PORTIONS OF MATTHEWS STREET; AND DIRECTING THE <br />MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ffiRCOS TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER TO <br />THE SAID PERSONS QUITCLAIM DEEDS TO SAID PORTIONS OF <br />MATTHEWS STREET. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Hansen seconded <br />the motion. The ordinance was passed, approved, and adopted. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance on third <br />and final reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES, AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF A PARCEL OF LAND OUT OF 52 ACRES <br />OF THE J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER TWO, BEING LOCATED <br />WITHIN AND A PART OF THE PAUL J. ROGERS TRUST, FURTHER <br />BEING APPROXIMATELY 4.79 ACRES FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO <br />"C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Hansen seconded <br />the motion. The ordinance was passed, approved, and adopted, <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked the Council to consider the appointment of <br />Mr. Celestino Mendez and Mr. Herman Korff to the Urban Renewal Com- <br />mission. Mr. Dibrell moved to table the appointments until the <br />next Regular Meeting. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked the Council to appoint alternate members to <br />the Subdivision Review Committee. Mr. Sutton moved that Mr, Art <br />Ables be appointed. Mr. Hansen seconded the appointment which was <br />unanimously approved, <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked the Council to consider the reappointment of Dr. I <br />Nilon Tallant as Health Officer for the City. Mr. Dibrell moved <br />that Dr. Tallant be reappointed. Mr, Hansen seconded the motion. <br />On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Dibrell, Craddock, Hansen, Sutton <br />NAY: Flores <br /> <br />Dr. Ni10n Tallant was reappointed as Health Officer for the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked the Council to consider the appointment of a <br />Deputy City Secretary. Mr, Hansen moved that Susan Fritsche be <br />appointed. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion which passed unanimously, <br />
