regular meeting, december 16, 1974 125 page three The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXXON CORPORATION TO PLACE A 10,000 GALLON STORAGE TANK AT THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Gilbert stated that the Commission hoped to negotiate with Exxon Corp. to leave the existing tanks at the airport. I The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, COMMENDING THE EFFORTS OF SAN MARCOS ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO GAVE ASSISTANCE DURING THE RECENT FLOOD ALERT. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE NUMBERED 1974-61 ESTABLISHING THE SALARY SCHEDULE AND AUTHORIZED POSITIONS OF THE POLICE AND FIRE SERIES BY REDUCING THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED FIRE TRAINEES AND FIRE FIGHTERS FROM 23 IN NUMBER TO 22 IN NUMBER AND RAISING THE STARTING SALARY FOR SAID POSITIONS FROM $461 MONTHLY TO $486 MONTHLY. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE I SF CHAPTER 23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY ADDING TO SECTION 23-1 A REQUIREMENT THAT EACH CNADIDATE POST A DEPOSIT AND ADDING TO SECTION 23-2 A NINETY DAY LIMITATION FOR THE POSTING OF PRINTED MATERIAL. Mr. Breihan moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. AMENDING THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE WHICH ESTABLISHES THE CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEMEN AND FIREMEN, THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS OF EACH CLASSIFICATION, AND THE SALARY IN STEPS FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION, BY AMENDING THAT SECTION NUMBERED 2-31 ENTITLED "JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY" SO AS TO CHANGE THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS FOR FIRE TRAINEE AND FIREFIGHTER FROM 24 IN NUMBER TO 23 IN NUMBER. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. I Mr. Sutton moved approval of the appointment of the following persons to the Bicentennial Commission: Charles Ramsay; Ruth King; Ophelia Vasquez; Allen Colwick; Thomas Carter; Marion Johnson; Mrs. Ross Compton; Bob Barton; Lee Smith; James K. Wise; Jack Byrom; Mrs. Walter Burnett; Bob Hyatt; Johnny Diaz; J. Louis Evans; and Mrs. J.D. Cummings. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Sutton moved approval of the confirmation of appointment of co-chairmen of the Bicentennial Commission, the Reverend H. Ellis Thomas as General Chairman and Mrs. Jack N. Stovall as Executive Chairman. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
