<br />regular meeting, december 16, 1974 <br /> <br />125 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXXON CORPORATION TO PLACE A 10,000 GALLON STORAGE <br />TANK AT THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. Mr. Gilbert stated that the Commission hoped to <br />negotiate with Exxon Corp. to leave the existing tanks at the airport. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />COMMENDING THE EFFORTS OF SAN MARCOS ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS <br />WHO GAVE ASSISTANCE DURING THE RECENT FLOOD ALERT. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN <br />ORDINANCE NUMBERED 1974-61 ESTABLISHING THE SALARY SCHEDULE AND <br />AUTHORIZED POSITIONS OF THE POLICE AND FIRE SERIES BY REDUCING THE <br />NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED FIRE TRAINEES AND FIRE FIGHTERS FROM 23 IN <br />NUMBER TO 22 IN NUMBER AND RAISING THE STARTING SALARY FOR SAID <br />POSITIONS FROM $461 MONTHLY TO $486 MONTHLY. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mr. Sutton <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE I SF <br />CHAPTER 23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY <br />ADDING TO SECTION 23-1 A REQUIREMENT THAT EACH CNADIDATE POST A DEPOSIT <br />AND ADDING TO SECTION 23-2 A NINETY DAY LIMITATION FOR THE POSTING OF <br />PRINTED MATERIAL. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor declared <br />the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. AMENDING THAT CERTAIN <br />ORDINANCE WHICH ESTABLISHES THE CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEMEN AND <br />FIREMEN, THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS OF EACH CLASSIFICATION, AND THE SALARY <br />IN STEPS FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION, BY AMENDING THAT SECTION NUMBERED <br />2-31 ENTITLED "JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY" SO AS TO CHANGE THE <br />NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS FOR FIRE TRAINEE AND FIREFIGHTER FROM <br />24 IN NUMBER TO 23 IN NUMBER. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor declared <br />the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the appointment of the following persons to the <br />Bicentennial Commission: Charles Ramsay; Ruth King; Ophelia Vasquez; Allen <br />Colwick; Thomas Carter; Marion Johnson; Mrs. Ross Compton; Bob Barton; Lee Smith; <br />James K. Wise; Jack Byrom; Mrs. Walter Burnett; Bob Hyatt; Johnny Diaz; J. Louis <br />Evans; and Mrs. J.D. Cummings. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the confirmation of appointment of co-chairmen of <br />the Bicentennial Commission, the Reverend H. Ellis Thomas as General Chairman <br />and Mrs. Jack N. Stovall as Executive Chairman. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />
