<br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve and allow sald calms
<br />and to authorize the delivery of CITY OF SAN MARCOS AUTOMOTIVE EQUIP-
<br />MENT AND STREET MACHI~ERY WARRANTS to evidence said indebtedness;

<br />THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TIiE CITY COUNCIL OF~THE CITY OF SAN
<br />MARCOS, TEXAS:

<br />4'" Section 1. That the claims hereinabove listed for il}-debtedness incu:red
<br />fh the purchase of automotive equipment and street machlnery for said Clty,
<br />in the total amount of $26,661.07, are hereby allowed and declared to be
<br />the lawful indebtedness of said City; that said'claimsare legally owned
<br />and held by the First National Bank, San Marcos. Texas.

<br />Section 2. That to evidence aaid indebtedness, there shall be executed
<br />and delivered to said First National Bank, San Marcos, Texas, CITY OF SAN
<br />,MARCOS AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT ArDD STREET MACHINERY WARRANTS, dated August I,
<br />, 1954, NUlllbers 10 to' 35; inclusive, in thedenom1nationof' $1,000 each,
<br />aggregating ~~26~000.00,bearitlg 3-1/2% interest perannUlll, and maturing
<br />on August 1st, ~l,OOO in 1966, and $5,000. in each of the years 1967
<br />to 1971, incluSivec~,'uthorized by the'af~esaid ordinance of June 30, 1954.

<br />Section 3. That the City of San Marcos, Texas; has received full value
<br />and consideration for said Warrants Nos. 10 to 35, inclusive.

<br />Section 4. That the excess of $661.07. as shown by said claims, shall
<br />be paid in cash by the City of San Marcos.
<br />
<br />Section 5. By reason of the fact that the City Council considers the
<br />passage of this ordinancene4essary for the immediate preservation of the
<br />public pease, property, health and safety of said City, andDf its citizens,
<br />it is hereby declared to bean emergency measure demanding that the rule
<br />requiring ordinances to be read at more than one meeting of the City Council
<br />be suspended, and that this ordinance take effect imruediately from and
<br />after its passage.

<br />The following resolution wastheri presented to the Council for adoption.
<br />Alderman Allen made a motion that the resolution be adopted. Alderman
<br />Smith seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously
<br />in favor of the motion.

<br />Alderman Allen intrdduced a resolution and moved its adoption. The mo-
<br />tion was seconded by Alderman Smith.
<br />The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the resolution, prevailed
