<br />37 <br /> <br />Henr,rKyle then met with the Council representing Bob Lowman. He <br />nres~nted a plat of the new airport which he asked that the Council approve. <br />He also asked that the Council agree to accept the deeds to the runways <br />and the strip of land at the end of the runway. This strip of land could <br />be used for a hanger or some sort of building. The lots along the <br />runway will be sold to private owners. Mr. Kyle stated that if the <br />City aporoved the;Jlat they ,\Duld not obligate the City in any way. <br />Mr. liiorgan seated that the City should get some liability insurance on the <br />field. The Gouncil decided it would be best to talk to the officials <br />of Gary Air Force Base before any steps are taken. Mr. Barbee said he <br />would get in touch with the Air Base and ask them to send us a letter of <br />approval of the airfield. It was then stated that the City is in favor <br />of the airfield if the insu:c>ance is not too high and if it is satisfactory <br />with the Air Base. ~fJ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Terry Jacks then presented an oral application on behalf of Lonnie <br />Calvin to be permitted to operate a taxi8cab business in the City of San <br />Marcos. He stated that Mr. Calvin has insurance on his taxi and is <br />ready to pay the :,;50.00 in order to begin operation. He is going to <br />charge 35;!:Jer ride. Mr. Calvin will also pay the City 2% of the gross <br />receipts each month. Mr. Jacks stated that Mr. Jack Majors has consented <br />to this. Alderman De Viney made a motion that the application of <br />Lonnie Calvin be acce::>ted and aDproved. Alderman Smith seconded the <br />motion. A vote was taken vinich resulted unanimously in favor of the motIDn. <br /> <br />There was a discus sian on the fact that the s idevlalk being built for the <br />school childred at the new school will run on the property of :Jan Ennis <br />a::''ld Dr. VIillia."'11 D. I'iloore. IvTr. Ennis and :Jr. ~\~oore will agree to the <br />sidewalk being built on their property if the City will sign an agreement <br />containing the follov!!ing provIsions: <br /> <br />That the City will keep the sidewalk cTI.ean and in a sanitary cond:l tion. <br />That the C:I.ty will agree to vacate the property at any time if the <br />property owners so desire. <br />I'ha t the City assume all liability on the sidewalk. <br /> <br />AYder~an Allen made a Dotion tnat the agreement be acceuted, aUDroved and <br />signed by the City.
