<br />SECTION 7 a. Persons, fir~ or corporations operaLing slaughter_ <br /> <br />houses carrying on a meat slaughtering or meat packing business whose <br /> <br />plants and establishments are inspected by Inspector of the United <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />States Department of Agriculture are hereby exempt from the payment <br />of inspection fees to the City of San Marcos in view of the recog- <br />nition of the meat inspection brands or marks of indentification <br />of the United St~tes Department of Agriculture. <br />SECTION 7 b. No person, firm or corporation exposing or offer_ <br />, . <br /> <br />ing for sale, or selling in the City of San Marcos, any meat, meat <br />products, or meat food products which meat, meat products or meat <br />food prOducts, or the container thereof, bears the meat inspected <br />brands or other mark or indentification of a municipality whose <br />meat inspection standard is recognized by the City of San Marcos <br />shall not carryon such business in the City of San Marcos unless <br />the Rules and Regulations herein provided for are complied with; <br />and such,person, firm or corporation must pay the actual cost of <br />any inspections of his or its plant made by the City of San Marcos. <br />The cost of such inspection service shall be paid to the City <br />Secretary. of the City of San Marcos. <br />SECTION 6. Processed meats and meat products shall be subject <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />to the inspections and requirements as to brands and marks of identi- <br />fication as provided for in the regulations herein. <br />SECTION 9. All offices mentioned herein and not heretofore <br /> <br />created are hereby created. <br /> <br />SECTION 10. Appeals. When the action of an inspector in con- <br />demning any meat or product is questioned, appeal may be made to <br />the inspector in charge, and from his decision appeal may be made <br />to the Director of Health, Mayor and City Council, whose decision <br />shall be final. <br />SECTION 11. Six (6) months shall be allowed to comply with <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regulations covering construction requirements from date of passage <br />of this ordinance, but all other prOVisions of this ordinance shall <br />become effective immediately upon passage and publication of same. <br />SBCTION 12. Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation, officer, <br />agent or emp:loyee thereof viOlating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a miSdemeanor, and upon con- <br />viction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Two Hun- <br />dred ($200.00) Dollars.
