Walker <br />Superintendent <br /> <br />After a discussion on this matter, Alderman Allen made a motion that <br />the City agree to pay $5,000;00 on the Underpass. Alderman Beecroft <br />seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously <br />in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. 3arbee stated that according to a contract previously made <br />with Cullen Crews, concerning water and sewer lines and reimbursement <br />for same, the City owed Mr. Crews $493.73. The Council gave Mr. Barbee <br />authority to pay that ~~ount. <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee made a re?ort on the increase of water customers~ <br />for the past three years.- <br /> <br />There was a discussion on requlrLng a permit for boxing and <br />wrestling matches held in San Marcos. Alderman Beecroft made a <br />motion ,that a permit fee of $5.00 per match be set for all I <br />boxing and wrestling matches and that the hiring of a special <br />policeman be required. Alderman Allen seconded the motion. <br />A va t e was taken whi ch resul ted unanimously in favo I' of the <br />ma tiol1. <br /> <br />Alderman Smi th tilen told the Council, t.b..a t since he was out <br />of town so frequently, he thought it would only be fair that he <br />resign from the office of Mayor Pro-Tem. The C:Juncil then unanimously <br />appointed C. M',Allen as Mayor Pro-1em,with authority to sign any and <br />all Oi ty, Utili "y and/or SinIdng Fund checks. <br />Mayor Dietterich then suggested that Mr. Ed Cape be asked to <br />work with Rodger Storey, C. V. Carson, and Jack Harper on the <br />Highway Right-Of- 'N ay problem. He said he thou[';ht it would be a <br />good idea for them to go to each of the property owners in order <br />to de termine ap:Jroxima tely the price of each pi ece of land. <br />The Counci 1 unanimously agreed wi th the Mayor's s ugges tion. <br /> <br />Mr. Victor Bowers and Herbert Nix met with the Council to <br />present drawings of the proposed recreation building for the . <br />park. The Council studies these plans, after which Alderman <br />De Viney made a motion that the plans be approved by the Council <br />subject to approval by the Park ward, and that IVIr. Bowers be <br />given the O.K. to proceed with further plans on t.l1e building. <br />Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was taken which <br />resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 5:00 P.
