<br />The motion for the adoDti,on of the above resolution was
<br />seconded by Alderman Hill, and after discussion, a vote was
<br />called for which resulted unanimously in favor of passage of
<br />the motion, whereupon, the Mayor announcod tho motion, carried
<br />with it the adoption of the resolution, was passed.

<br />There was a discussion on the nlans for two new fire stations.
<br />The Council unanimously authorized lllayor Jietterich to sign a
<br />contract with duss Co., San Antonio, Texas, to handle the issue
<br />of $85,000.00 Warrants to be usod on two fire stations. ,The
<br />contract follows these minutes and is a ;Ja:et hereof.

<br />The Council discussed the names submitted by the nomination
<br />cOmlnitte as menbers of the official Planning and Zoning Cmmnission.
<br />Tho City Secretary was instructed to write to each of the nine
<br />menbers and to the alternates,asking is they would serve.
<br />
<br />Mr. Ed Willia..rns, representing t':1e County Polio Board, met
<br />with the Council to discuss the fly problem. The Council assured
<br />Mr. Williams that fogging and spraying will be continued through
<br />the SUn1."11er. Ivlr. ljarbee stated that l~lr. Deck, who picks up garabag'8
<br />from the busirn ss houses, has been instructed to make extra pick-ups
<br />after it has rained, in order to prevent flies gathering.
<br />Mr. Barbee stated that the City WqS trying to get the people to
<br />tie on to city sewer ~hen it was availa81e. Mr. Williams also f
<br />sug~ested that notices be given that all vacant lots are to be .
<br />kept mowed and livestock pens are to be cleaned.

<br />A plat of the Perkins SubDivision out of the T. J. Chambers
<br />Lea. was presented to t;'le Council for approval. After a study
<br />of U,e plat, Aldercnn 0eecroft made a motion that the plat 'be
<br />approved. Alderman Smith seconded the motion. A vote was taken
<br />which resulted unanimously in favor of t?le motion.

<br />Mr. Baroee, Executive 3ec~etary, stated that it will 88
<br />necessary for the City to borrow $15,000.00 with Expense ~arrants
<br />that have already be,m issued. He asked for the Councils appro val.
<br />Alderman Smith made a motion that Mr. 13'lrbee be authorized to
<br />borrow $15,000.00. Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A
<br />vote was taken whiCh resulted unanimously in favor of the motion.

<br />/III'. Darbee stated that there is an old sign, almost worthless,
<br />on the old Negro U .S.O. .suilding. Tom Baldwin has asked if he
<br />might have it. The sign is on city property out does not belong
<br />to the City. The COllllOil stated that they did not mind he if
<br />removed it.from the City property.
