To be of the pOci ti ve displacement type with auxiliary oiling <br />system. A che;c.', valve to be placed in the oiling system to prevent <br />pressure forGin9 water frocl main pump into the priming oil tank. <br />The priming valve to be placed between the priming system and the <br />centrifugal p'~mp. The pTiming valve control on the operator's panel. <br />PUMP GEAR SHIFl...Tne pump shifti~g lever to be located in the cab to have <br />locking device to hold it in gear. The priming device to be vacuum <br />clutch operated with push button control mounted on pump operating <br />panel. <br />~...Two Chromium-plated g2uges; one an 800 lb. combination pressure and <br />vacuum 9~uge attached to pump discharge manifold. <br />The other 400 lb. sombination pressure and vacuum gauge attached to <br />the pump intake manifold. To be mounted in brass chromium-plated <br />instrument panel, to be mounted at the top of the operating panel <br />at the left side of th9 truck. <br />THROTTLE...To be of venier setting type, located in convenient place on pump <br />control panel, and so constructed that the engine speed and pump <br />pressure can be accurately adjusted. And they will not vary when set. <br />TACHOMETER. " To record the revoh.ltions per minute of the motor; to be mounted <br />in the pum? ir.strunent panel. <br />COOLING SYSTEM...An auxiliary cooling system, made of brass and copper, to be <br />built into the radi2to~. To regulate the temperature of the motor <br />whe~ pumping. It is to be of the indirect type, which permits the <br />use of antifreeze in cold weather. Also a dirct motor cooler to be <br />provided. Both valve controls for these systems to be chromium- <br />plated and conveniently located on the operating panel. <br />HOSE BODY...To be made of not less than 12 gauge sheet metal, and to have a <br />hose carrying capacity of 1200 feet of 2t" double jacket hose, and <br />so constI'osted that no fender walls or other offsets are necessary. <br />The bottom of body to have 2" channel steel supports, five or more, <br />properly spae;ed to eq'~,lj2e the load and furnish foundation for <br />the booster tan'(, to :rem full length of the body. The floor boards <br />to be of hQl"dwOOG sl~ts about 4" wide and spaced 3/8" apart to <br />provide ve:ltilation for hose. The floor to rest upon the top of the <br />booster tank a~d to be made removnble. <br />A metal pal"U tion fastened to floor boards on left side to provide <br />separate c~mpa"tment for the l~'" booster line.
