They will not vary when set.

TACHOMETER.. . To record the revolutions per minute of the DlOtor; is mounted in the
pump instrument panel.

COOIJNG SYSTEM...An auxiliary cooling system, made of brass and copper, is built
into the radiator. It regulates the temperature of the motor when pumping.
Due to the fact it is of the indirect type, it permits the use of antifreeze
in cold weather. A direct motor cooler is also provided. Both valve
controls for these systems are chromium-plated and conveniently located on
the operating panel.

~-

HOSE BODY.. .Is made of 12 gauge sheet metal, and has a hose carrying capacity of
1200 feet of 2k" double jacket hose; is so constructed that no
fender wells or other offsets are necessary. The bottom of the body has 2"
channel steel supports, five in number, properly spaced to equalize the
load and furnish foundation for the booster tank, which runs full length of
the body. The floor boards are of hardWOOd slats about 4" wide and spaced
3/8" apart to provide ventilation for hose. This floor rests upon the top
of the booster tank and is removable. There is a metal partition fastened
to floor boards on left side to provide separate compartment for the I!"
booster line. This compartment is of ample size to carry 150 feet or more
of I!" double jacket hose, which is permanently attached so that it can be
placed in service immediately by opening a I!" valve placed by the operating
panel.

'.

BOOSTER TANK.. .Has a capacity of 400 gallons. It is constructed of
10 gauge metal with sufficient number of baffle plates to prevent water
from splashing in any direction. It is L-shaped and is placed in the hose
body with the bottom of L upright IllId to the front, - to provide a filler
at the highest point. The filler for the booster tllllk is in the shape of
a rectIlllRUlar~. Aroulld the top of the trough is an aluminum molding
to prevent chipping of paint when tank is filled mth buckets. On the left
side of this trough, is a brass filler cap threaded into a brass female
base. The cap has a rubber gasket for water tightness. The!212 of ~
~ ~ removable to permit cleaning IllId repainting ~en necessary. It is
fitted with gasket for water tightness IllId a splash-proof overflow of 2k"
size is provided. A whirlpOOl eliminator is also built into bottom of tank.
The tllllk is made with fender wells that fit over the fender -..ells in the
body, thereby providing a rectllllgular hose bed free from obstructions. The
connection between the booster tllllk IllId the intake manifold of the pump is
2" inside diameter and controlled with a quick-opening valve located on
left of truck convenient to pump operator. Boster tank: Cllll be filled from
hydrant.

S:lliMS FIRE EQUIPMENT COMPANY
San Antonio, Texas

Page 3
