<br />~' <br /> <br />.C5J <br />therefore paid for the PRELIMINARY PHASE, shall be due and payabiel <br /> <br />at the city Hall in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, upon completion <br /> <br />by the Engineers, and acceptance by the City, of the construction <br /> <br />plans and specifications. The remainder of the said fee shall be <br /> <br />paid in monthly installments in proportion to the construction <br /> <br />work completed, on the basis of the Engineers' estimates prepared <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />for monthly payments to contractors. <br /> <br />C. In the event the City elects to do certain portions of the <br /> <br />work by the use of its own personnel, or materials, or equipment, <br /> <br />under force account procedure, then the construction cost of such <br /> <br />work, for the purposes of calculating the fee of the Engineers, <br /> <br />shall be the lowest price bid for said work, or similar type work, <br /> <br />by an acceptable contractor. <br /> <br />D. In the event the City authorizes the services of a resident <br /> <br />engineer or inspector, the City agrees to pay Engineers for the ser- <br /> <br />vices of such resident engineer or inspector an additional amount <br /> <br />equal to the salary cost of such engineer or inspector plus reim- <br /> <br />bursement for direct non-labor expense. Salary cost is defined as the <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />cost of salaries of engineers, architects, draftsmen, stenographers, <br /> <br />surveymen, clerks,laborers, etc., directly chargable to the Project, <br /> <br />plus Social Security contributions, unemployment excise and payroll <br /> <br />taxes, employment compensation insurance, sick leave, vacation, <br /> <br />and holiday pay for each such employee so authorized. Any sums <br /> <br />paid by the City for the services of such authorized resident <br /> <br />engineer or inspector shall be in addition to the above mentioned <br /> <br />fee to be paid to Engineers. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />It is agreed and understood that no work will be started under <br /> <br />this contract unless and until the Engineers are authorized by the City, <br /> <br />in writing, to proceed; all work shall be done with all speed commensurate <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />with careful, accurate engineering practices and all the plans, specifications, <br /> <br />estimates, drawings, designs and other incidental and related engineering <br /> <br />work or materials furnished the City, for which the Engineers have been paid <br /> <br />by the City, shall become and remain the property of the City and may be <br /> <br />used at the election of the City in connection with any work on this project <br /> <br />at any time without any additional cost to the City or remuneration to the <br /> <br />Engineers other than hereinabove in this contract specifically provided. <br />
