Johnson recommended accepting the low bid of <br />John J. Stokes Construction Company. Motion was made by Alderman ~illburn and <br />seconded by Alderman Beecroft that the bid or the John J. Stokes constructi.on <br />Company in the amount of $67,367.00 be accepted subject to concurrence by the <br />S-cate Health Departmen-c and the U.S. Public Health Service. The ayes and nayes <br />were as follows: <br /> <br />Ayes: Aldermen Beecroft <br />Davis <br />Hi llburn <br />Korff <br />Steakley <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Nayes: None <br /> <br />Mayor Allen declared the mati.on passed and requested the City Manager to for- <br />ward the Council'S tentative acceptance and recommendation to the State <br />Department of Health and the U.S. Public Health Service. <br /> <br />The Council next considered the bids received for Lift Station <br />Improvements, tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />Name 2. The council <br />asked i\ilr. Hugh c. DiCKson, Engineer, regarding this informality. Mr. Dickson <br />stated that the informalitj could be waived, if it is to the best interest of <br />the City to do so. The City Nlanager recommended that the final decision be <br />delayed until further study of the bids could be made.
