'_0 ;:k~ :.1.;. t7;f.~ After a careful study and review of the bids, the Council asked Mr. Johnson, reoresenting Freese, Nichols & Turner, Consulcing Engineers, for his recommendation as to award. l'I1T. Johnson recommended accepting the low bid of John J. Stokes Construction Company. Motion was made by Alderman ~illburn and seconded by Alderman Beecroft that the bid or the John J. Stokes constructi.on Company in the amount of $67,367.00 be accepted subject to concurrence by the S-cate Health Departmen-c and the U.S. Public Health Service. The ayes and nayes were as follows: Ayes: Aldermen Beecroft Davis Hi llburn Korff Steakley I Nayes: None Mayor Allen declared the mati.on passed and requested the City Manager to for- ward the Council'S tentative acceptance and recommendation to the State Department of Health and the U.S. Public Health Service. The council asked i\ilr. Hugh c. DiCKson, Engineer, regarding this informality. Mr. Dickson stated that the informalitj could be waived, if it is to the best interest of the City to do so. The City Nlanager recommended that the final decision be delayed until further study of the bids could be made.
