Gary concerning a piece of property owned by Mr. Gary across
which the City has built a street, Mr. Gary has refused the City's offer of
$300.00 for a right-of-way across this property or $400.00 for the entire lot.
After some discussion the Council agreed that their offerwwas fair and they would
leave it unaltered.

The City Council considered obtaining a necessary right-of-way for a force
main from the lift station to cross "the Bingham property. After some discussion,
Mayor Allen suggested that Alderman Korff and City Manager Fuller offer Mr.
Bingham $500.00 for the portion of this property which he required for the
crossing of the force main.'

The Council next considered acquiring the necessary right-of-way to
extend Linda Drive aODDSS Mrs. Bengstrom's property. The City Manager reported
that it would require approximately 1.4 acres and Mr. Eddie Giesen, agent fDr
Mrs. Bengstrom, had quoted the property at $800.00. After some discussion,
Alderman Hillburn made a motion, seconded by Alderman Beecroft, that the City
buy the 1.4 acres necessary for the extension of Linda Drive at a cost of
approximately $1120.00. The motion was passed by a unanimous vote of the
Council.

I

City Manager Fuller brought to the attention of the Council the need
for authorization for him to issue purchase orders for materials for the cons-
truction of the new force main. A motion was made by Alderman BeecDoft,
seconded by Alderman Davis, that authorization be given to City Manager Fuller
to issue the purchase orders for materials for the construction of the new
force main. The motion was passed by a unanimous vote of the Council.

City Manager Fuller asked the Council's permission to set up a special
fund to cover the expenses of WPC-Tex-20. The money for this fund would be
drawn from the General Revenue Fund, which will be reimbursed as soon as federal
aid is received. This would eliminate the expense which would be incurred in
issuing warrants until federal aid is received on this project. The Council
concurred in this plan.

Mayor Allen reported on a recent request by Mrs. Cummins that the City
install a more adequate water line and fire protection to the Rio Vista property
and the other residents on Reynold Street. That would be, in addition to the
Rio Vista property, about 14 houses and the ijulf and Magnolia bulk plants pro-
tected by this fire plug. The cost of the installation was estimated to be
$1500.00. It was decided to proceed immediately with the installation of a 6>>
water line and a fire plug in this area.

I

There leing no further business, on motion made and seconded, the
Council adjourned.

C.
