The City Manager reported that a six month option had <br />been obtained from Mr. Coy DeViney for the Gilcrease property and <br />the Council instructed the City Manager to obtain an option on the <br />property on Cheatham Street owned by Mr. Steffen. <br /> <br />6. Mr. Rogers offered to deed to the City a small strip of <br />land which he owned on Cheatham Street as well as any right, title or <br />interest he might have in the small strip of land between Bug~ Lane <br />and the KMT RR switch line to Luling. Alderman Hillburn made a motion <br />that the City Attorney prepare both deeds. A tabulation of the bids on the lift Station Relocation I <br />on Interstate 35 were presented. After careful study of the bids <br />received. Alderman Korff made a motion that the bid of Harwell & <br />Harwell in the amount of Fifty-Three Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-Five <br />& nO/lOO ($53,925.00) be accepted. The Motion was seconded by <br />Alderman Younger and the ayes and nays were: <br />Ayes: Allen, Hillburn, Korff, Ruiz, Sutton & Younger <br />Nays: None <br />The City Manager was instructed to notify the Texas Department of <br />Hiways of the Council's action for their further approval. <br /> <br />8. Mr. J. H. pollard, 117 Riviera Street, had requested <br />that the City's equipment be used to clean the river to aid the <br />property owners who had no equipment to clear the aquatic growth from <br />the river by their property. Alderman Younger made a Motion that the <br />City comply]and the charges to be set at $10.00 per hour when two men <br />and two pieces of equipment were used and $7.50 per hour when two men <br />and one piece of equipment was used. The City is to be held harmless <br />from any and all damage as a result of the operation. The Motion was <br />seconded by Alderman Sutton and carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Veidt asked if any thing had been done about the <br />ordinance concerning Health Card. Council advised that the Doctors <br />were meeting on this date and they would probably hear from them Wednesday. <br />Ruiz suggested that we wait until Wednesday to hear from the Doctors <br />before drafting an ordinance. <br /> <br />Alderman Sutton asked for the use of Fire Station #3 <br />to hold the Republican Primary.
