AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING PAYMENT OF A FEE FOR EACH DOOWITHIN THE CITV LIMITS, MAKING IT THE DUTY OF THE CITY TAX ASSESSOR, COLLECTOR TO COLLECT SUCH FEES AND AUTHORIZING EMPLOYMENT OF- A 000 CATCHE.R, AUTHORIZING PAVMENr TO 000 CATCHER OF:A COMMISSION ON ALL DOOS IMPOUNDEDI PROVIDING FOR FURNISHING A LICENSE TAG FOR OOOS AFTER DCGS HAVE BEEN VACCINATED, REQum- 100 VACCINATION OF ALL DOOS WITHIN CITV LIMITS, PROVIDING, FOR PROCURING TAG WHEN ORIGINAL IS LOSTI MAKING IT THE DUTV OF CHIEF OF POLlCE TO CAl'1URE AND IMPOUND DOOS FOUND WITHOUT TAGS, PROVIDING FOR SALE OR KILLING OF IMPOUNDED DOOS, PROVIDING FOR RECLAMATION OF IMPOllNDED OOOS UPON PAYMENT OFA FEE, MAKING IT THE Durv OF THE CHIEF OF POLlCE TO ENFORCE THIS ORDINANCE, MAKING IT UNUWFUL TO REMOVE LICBNSE TAG, CONTATNING A SEVERA- BILItv CLAUSE, PROHIBfiINg Tift! ~INO Of HOI;$SAI0 CERTAIN OTHER ANIMALS WITHIN THE CITV LIMITS, AND MAKING IT THE Duty OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO IMPOUND SUCH SNIMALSI PROVIDING FOR THE REDEMPTION AND SALE OF SUCH ANIMAl:.S; PRcmBTIING GRAZING OF ANIMALS IN CERTAIN PLACES; REQUmING CHICKENS AND OJ'HER FOWL 10 BE KEPI' IN PENS; PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATlON OF THIS ORDINANCE." ARTIClE A, Section 1. The following words in the first sentence "an annual fee of $2.00, whil;h includes vaccination and" shall be deleted and the following worning "an annual fee of ONE DOllAR ($1.00) for a" shall be substituted therefor. ARTICLE A, BEef ION 2. This Section shell be deleted in its entirety and the following substituted therefor; "Section 2. 000 CATCHER. TheCity Health Officer, or his duly authorized representative, shall employ a special officer to be known and designated as "Pound Master, whose duty it shall be to carry out the terms and provisions of this Ordinance and to pay to the Tax Asse$Sor- Collector of the City of SanMarcos all fees, charges or other assessments made or required by any provisions of this Ordinance. Ther Tax Assessor-Gollector shall pay unto the Pound Master a fee on all dogs legally, impounded a sum not to exceed ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) per head." ARTICLE A, BEef ION 3. The beginning of the first s.ntencewhich reads as follows "Upon the payment of said fee, the Chief of Police" shall be,deleted and the following wording substituted therefor "Upon the payment of the fee as provided in Section labove, the Tax Assessor-Collector". , The last sentence of Section 3 shall be deleted in its entirety and the followingwoIiling substdJtuted therefor "But in no event shall the Tax Assessor-Collector, or his duly authorized representative, issue a license tag to any owner or keeper of a dog, male or female, unless and until such owner or keeper shall furnish a vaccination certificate issued by a veternarian, licensed to practice in the State of Texas, stating that such dog Dr dogs have been vaccinated against rabies by him and the immunity shall be effective during the period for which the license is issued." ARTICLE A, Section 4. The woxiling "shall collect his fee for same from the City of San Marcos," shall be deleted and the following wording inserted therefor "shall collect his fee for the same from the owner or keeper of the dog, ". In therseetion paragraph of Section 4, the wording "Chief of Police by paying the value of said tag" and be omitted and the wording "Tax Assessor- Collector by paying the sum of Fifty Cents (50~) " inserted therefor. 11~
