~ 17' practicing veterinarians to report to the Health Officer all cases of rabies or suspected rabies which shall come to his attention. Section 16. KEEPING OF HOGS WITHIN cITY LIMITS. The keeping of pigs, hogs, swine or at!)oc,membelrot: the Suidae family in the city limits of San Marcos shall be prohibited. I Section 17. CATTLE, HORSES ETC, It shall be unlawful to permit any cattle, horses, jacks, jennets, sheep, goats or like animals to run at large within the City of San Marcos or, to be upon the premises of any person other than the owner. The pen or pens where such animals are con- fined shall be kept in a clean and sanitary manner at all times and shall be subject to inspection by the Health Officer or his representative at all times between sunrise and sunset. The droppings or fecal matter from such animals shall be disposed of in a sanitary manner and shall not be placed in any garbage can or other container for removal by the City. No ~nima1 as defined in this Section shall be staked in a manner which will permit it to graze upon any sidewalk, street or other public property within the city limits of Sam Marcos. Section 18. FOWLS. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation, having under their control or ownership, any chicken, goose, duck, turkey or other fowl to permit the same to run at large. All fowls shall be contihedGin suitable sanitary pens or cages which pens or cages shall be subject to inspection by the Health Officer or his repre- sentative at any time between sunrise and sunset to determine that the pro- visions of this Section are being complied with. If any section, part,word, phrase, clause or sentence or any proviaon of this Ordinance is declared uncon- stitutional or invalid, then, in that event, it is expressly provided, and it is the intention of the Governing Body in passing this Ordinance, that all other parts of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby and shall remainHn full force and effect. Section 20. MAKING VIOLATION A MISDEMEANOR. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), and each and every day of such violation shall be deemed a separate offense. Section 21. REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the terms of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 22. EFFECTIVE DATE OF ENFORCEMENT. This Ordinance shall be in effect after its legal publication or August 1, 1962, whichever shall last occur. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 26th day of June A.D., 1962.
