<br />~ <br />17' <br /> <br />practicing veterinarians to report to the Health Officer all cases of rabies <br />or suspected rabies which shall come to his attention. <br /> <br />Section 16. KEEPING OF HOGS WITHIN cITY LIMITS. The keeping of <br />pigs, hogs, swine or at!)oc,membelrot: the Suidae family in the city limits <br />of San Marcos shall be prohibited. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Section 17. CATTLE, HORSES ETC, It shall be unlawful to permit <br />any cattle, horses, jacks, jennets, sheep, goats or like animals to run <br />at large within the City of San Marcos or, to be upon the premises of any <br />person other than the owner. The pen or pens where such animals are con- <br />fined shall be kept in a clean and sanitary manner at all times and shall <br />be subject to inspection by the Health Officer or his representative at <br />all times between sunrise and sunset. The droppings or fecal matter from <br />such animals shall be disposed of in a sanitary manner and shall not be <br />placed in any garbage can or other container for removal by the City. No <br />~nima1 as defined in this Section shall be staked in a manner which will <br />permit it to graze upon any sidewalk, street or other public property within <br />the city limits of Sam Marcos. <br /> <br />Section 18. FOWLS. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, <br />firm or corporation, having under their control or ownership, any chicken, <br />goose, duck, turkey or other fowl to permit the same to run at large. All <br />fowls shall be contihedGin suitable sanitary pens or cages which pens or <br />cages shall be subject to inspection by the Health Officer or his repre- <br />sentative at any time between sunrise and sunset to determine that the pro- <br />visions of this Section are being complied with. The droppings and/or other <br />fecal mitter shall be disposed of in a sanitary manner and shall not be <br />placed in a garbage can or other container for disposal by the City. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Section 19. SAVINGS CLAUSE. If any section, part,word, phrase, <br />clause or sentence or any proviaon of this Ordinance is declared uncon- <br />stitutional or invalid, then, in that event, it is expressly provided, and <br />it is the intention of the Governing Body in passing this Ordinance, that <br />all other parts of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby and shall <br />remainHn full force and effect. <br /> <br />Section 20. MAKING VIOLATION A MISDEMEANOR. Any person who <br />shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed <br />guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not <br />exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), and each and every day of such <br />violation shall be deemed a separate offense. <br /> <br />Section 21. REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. All ordinances <br />or parts of ordinances in conflict with the terms of this Ordinance are <br />hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Section 22. EFFECTIVE DATE OF ENFORCEMENT.
