<br />regular reeting <br /> <br />august 12, 1963 page three <br /> <br />;1 <br /> <br />Alderman: Stokes moved that the C~ty Manager be directed to prepare <br />a fixed assets appraisal of the City's property prior to the end <br />of the fiscal year, March 31, 1964. Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion, and, on roll call, the following vo~e was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool, Ruiz, Stokes, SWift <br />NAYs None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Item 4 of the Addendum to City Manager Items was a recommendation <br />from the Building Inspector that the Council approve issuance of a <br />building permit to Jack Ritter Oil Co., Inc. for construction of a <br />service station with two 10,000-gal. above-ground storage tanks. <br />Alderman SWift moved that the matter be referred to the Planning & <br />Zoning Commission. Alderman Moore seconded the motion, and, on roll <br />call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: Pool, Ruiz <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />A Special Memorandum from the City Manager to the Council stated <br />that Corporation Judge Kenneth Sutton had requested the City Attorney <br />to prepare an ordinance establishing criminal procedure for the City <br />of San MBrcas. A copy of City Attorney Albert Walker's reply to <br />Judge Sutton was furnished each member of the Council. The City <br />Manager was requested to prepare such an ordinance as 2soon as possible. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a Progress Report on the 26 Items given <br />priority by the Council in April. Alderman Pool commented on Item II, <br />which concerns Airport Improvements, and revealed that College RarC <br />flying classes to be held at the Airport nex~ term give an additional <br />urgency to extending water service to the Airport. Alderman Swift <br />suggested that it be ascertained how many adjoining property ownerS <br />wish to petition to come into the City Limits. <br /> <br />Alderman Swift suggested that Mr. E.E. McAdams be invited to come <br />before the Council at an adjourned meeting August 20 to discuss his <br />method of cod~fication of a city's ordinances. It was agreed by <br />common consent to ask Mr. McAdams to come before the Council on <br />that date. <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved that the City Manager be authorized to contract <br />for a wrought iron cemetery gate, as per drawing and bid of $365 <br />submitted by Lila Harper. Alderman Stokes offered an amendment that <br />the order be held until the San Marcos Cemetery Association forwards <br />the $1000 gift promised for Cemetery improvements. The amendment <br />was accepted. Alderman Ruiz seconded the motion, and, -on roll call <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Pool,-Ruiz, Stokes, Swift <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />Whereupon, the Mayor declared the motion carried, as amended. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Alderman Swift moved that the City Manager be authorized to purchase <br />a striping machine in September; a garbage truck in October; and a <br />brush chipper in November.
