OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE URBAN RE- <br />NEWAL PLl\N AND THE FEASIBILITY OF RELOCATION <br />FOR PROJECT NO" TEX R-73, CHAUTAUQUA HILL PROJECT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under the provision of Title I of the Housing Act of <br />1949, as amended, the Housing and Home Finance Administrator is <br />authorized to provide financial assistance to the Local Public Agency <br />for undertaking and carrying out urban renewal proJects; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is provided in such Act that contracts for financial <br />aid thereunder shall required that the Urban Renewal Plan for the re- <br />spectivepro)ect area be approved by the governing body of the locality <br />in whkhthe project is situated and that such approvalincl ~. the <br />findings by the governing body that: (1) the financial aid to . idod <br />in the contract is necessary to enable the prOject to be un <br />accordance with the Urban Renewal Plan; (Z)the Urban ReneWa' I>lan <br />will afford maximum opportunity, consistent with the sound heeds of the <br />locality as a whole, for the reha.bilitation and redevelopment of the <br />urban renewal area for educational usage.; (3) the Urban Renewal Plan <br />conforms to a general plan for the develcfpment of the locality as a <br />whole; and (4) the Urban Renewal Plan gives due consideration to'. 'the <br />provision of adequate recreational areas and facilities, as may be <br />desirable for educational development; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal Agency of the CitYfPf San Marcos, <br />Texas, (herein called the Local PublJc Agency), nas entered into a <br />planning contract for financial assistance under such Act with the <br />United States of America, acting by and through the Housing and Home <br />Finance Administrator, pursuant to which Federal funds were proVided <br />for the urban renewal project (herein called the "ProJect"), identified <br />as "'fex R-73, Chautauqua Hill ProJect", and encompassing the area <br />bounded on the East line by the E. side of a public alley from E. <br />Woods Street to Concho Street; East along the North line of Concho <br />S~reet1o the E. line of N. Union Street; South along the E. line of <br />N. Union Street to the S. line of Colorado Street; Westerly along the <br />S. line of Colorado Street to the W. line ofN.
