He cited
Mr. Rosales' qualifications for serving on the Board of Adjustment,
and said that his being a Civil Service employee precluded his
"getting mixed up in politics". The Mayor said that perhaps, since
the Aldermen had rejected his nominees, that a good method might be
for each Alderman to suggest one name.

The Mayor introduced the matter of appointing someone to fill the
vacancy in the Local Public Agency Board, since D.A. Snellings,
appointed September 9, would not be able to serve. The Mayor
proposed the name of C.A. Austin. Alderman Pool moved that
C.A. Austin be appointed to the LPA. The Council gave approval to the recommendation,
by common consent.

Councilmen were furnished with copies of a letter from Mr. Al Stehling,
requesting a special permit for his service trucks. The matter of
granting special privelege in parking permits, even with a charge, was
thoroughly discussed. Alderman Stokes moved that Mr. Stehling be
notified that the matter had been taken under consideration and the
Council had decided that it should abide by the present policy.
