A copy of the letter is made a <br />part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued on the reply to be given Mr. Stokes. <br />The City Manager stated the City could meet the deadline <br />"un I ess we have protracted bad weather". A I derman Wh i tt- I <br />enberg stated he did not think the City should get invol- <br />ved in a crash pro'gram: "We are comm i tted toH:he schoo I ; <br />I would not be in favor of making any promi;es". <br />Alderman Pool said he thoughtfthe City "ought to get the <br />sewer to him as soon as poss iib Ie" . Mayor Pro Tem Serur <br />asked the City Manager if he had a completion date for <br />the schoo I sewer I i tie, if work progressed at the present <br />rate. Mr. Fuller replied that, with good weather, condit- <br />ions, the school line should be finished in Apri I. "We <br />would like to get it finished as soon as possible",the <br />Cfty Manager said. Alderman Tutile said: "I think there <br />are some things in the City that we ought to do before we <br />do any new work. I am not in favor of making a commitment." <br />Alderman Ruiz pointed out that Mr. Stokes had offered to <br />pay for the line himself, and that it seemed a good prop- <br />osition for the City. Mr. Serur asked if it were agreeable <br />with the Counci I that Mr. Fuller write Mr. Stokes that the <br />I ine should be completed between Apri I 15-30, and the City <br />was wi lling for Mr. Stokes to lay the line if he could ac- <br />como date his plans to that schedule. Alderman Whittenberg <br />moved that City Manager Fuller advise Garland Stokes that <br />work on the sewer line to the elementary school on Cedar I <br />Plateau is progressing and wi I I proceed under normal con- <br />ditions; that the City wi II not make a commitment as to the <br />definite date of completion of the line. Alderman Tuttle <br />seconded the motion and on rol I call, the fol lowing vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Ruiz, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />NAY: Poo I <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Ruiz said to Mr. Fuller: "Make it clesr in the letter <br />to Mr. Stokes what the City's commitment to the school is". <br /> <br />Alderman Whittenberg moved adoption of an ordinance author- <br />izing the issuance of $30,000 General Fund Current Expense <br />Warrants and $50,000 Uti lity Warrants; and that the sale of <br />fifty Fire Station Bonds, Series 1957, be offered to a sel- <br />ected list of bidders, as provided in the 1964-1965 budget. <br />Alderman Tuttle seconded the motion, and on roll call the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Pool, Ruiz, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem declared the Ordinances, attache~ here <br />as a part of the Minutes, Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br />
