<br />WHEREAS, we, the undersigned, owners of a strip of land contiguous
<br />and adjacent to the present boundary line of the City of San Marcos, said
<br />strip of land not exceeding one-half (1/2) mile in width, and further being
<br />vacant and without residents, in accordance with Section 974g VATS, hereby
<br />petition the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos. Texas, to accept
<br />said strip of land within its corporate boundaries that it may receive all
<br />the benefits and privileges of being a part of the City of San Marcos, Texas;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, a map of the area is attached hereto and marked as Exhibit
<br />"A", the said strip of land being more particularly described by metes and
<br />bounds as follows:
