The Resolution was discussed. <br />Alderman Pool moved approval of the Resolution, a copy <br />of which is made a part of the Minutes. Alderman Whitt- <br />enberg seconded the motion and on 1'01 I cal I, the fol low- <br />ing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY; <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />I' <br /> <br />Item 7 of the prepared HMetters to be Considered" on <br />the Agenda was in the fol lowing form: <br /> <br />"It is recommended that the ~ounci I enter into a <br />contract with Isom Hale & Associates, Austin, for <br />the work contemplated under Planning Advance Pro- <br />ject #P-Tex-3273". <br /> <br />The City Manager suggested that the Counci I invite <br />Isom Hale to San Marcos to talk with Counci I members <br />about the Project. A I derman Poo I sa i d: HI request that <br />we invite MI'. Hale to come down and talk with us". The <br />Mayor agreed to call a special meeting for the purpose. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that the San Marcos Library <br />Board, created by the City Counci I, had completed and <br />received approval for Parts One and Two of a construct- <br />ion project appl ication for a library bui Iding to be <br />located on Hutchison Street. The Library Board, Friends <br />of the Library, and others, MI'. Ful IeI' continued, have 1 <br />raised a sufficient sum of money to prepare Part Three <br />of the application. Under the Library Services and <br />Construction Act, PL 88-269, the funds raised locally <br />are matched by Federal funds avai lable through the <br />Texas State Library. Detai Is of the estimated cost wi I I <br />be available for the CounciJ Monday. Mr. Ful IeI' estimat- <br />ed that approximately $185,000.00 would be avai lable for <br />this project through local and matching funds., The Coun- <br />ci I wi I I be requested to authorize the Mayor to enter into <br />Part Three of a Construction Project Appl ication.Alderman <br />Pool moved that the Counci I concur in the Library plans <br />and authorize tre Mayor to enter into Part Three of the <br />Construction Project Appl ication. Alderman Froh seconded <br />the motion. The matter was thoroughl~ discussed and ex- <br />plained. I t was stated that the firm of F ehr & <br />Granger of Austin had been working with the Library <br />Board on plans and specifications for some time.
