Alderman Pool moved approval of the Resolution, a copy of which is made a part of the Minutes. Alderman Whitt- enberg seconded the motion and on 1'01 I cal I, the fol low- ing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY; Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. I' Item 7 of the prepared HMetters to be Considered" on the Agenda was in the fol lowing form: "It is recommended that the ~ounci I enter into a contract with Isom Hale & Associates, Austin, for the work contemplated under Planning Advance Pro- ject #P-Tex-3273". The City Manager suggested that the Counci I invite Isom Hale to San Marcos to talk with Counci I members about the Project. A I derman Poo I sa i d: HI request that we invite MI'. Hale to come down and talk with us". The Mayor agreed to call a special meeting for the purpose. The City Manager reported that the San Marcos Library Board, created by the City Counci I, had completed and received approval for Parts One and Two of a construct- ion project appl ication for a library bui Iding to be located on Hutchison Street. The Library Board, Friends of the Library, and others, MI'. Ful IeI' continued, have 1 raised a sufficient sum of money to prepare Part Three of the application. Under the Library Services and Construction Act, PL 88-269, the funds raised locally are matched by Federal funds avai lable through the Texas State Library. Detai Is of the estimated cost wi I I be available for the CounciJ Monday. Mr. Ful IeI' estimat- ed that approximately $185,000.00 would be avai lable for this project through local and matching funds., The Coun- ci I wi I I be requested to authorize the Mayor to enter into Part Three of a Construction Project Appl ication.Alderman Pool moved that the Counci I concur in the Library plans and authorize tre Mayor to enter into Part Three of the Construction Project Appl ication. Alderman Froh seconded the motion. The matter was thoroughl~ discussed and ex- plained. On 1'011 call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Froh, Pool, Tuttle, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried. The choice of an architect for the new Library bui Iding was introduced. I t was stated that the firm of F ehr & Granger of Austin had been working with the Library Board on plans and specifications for some time. Alder- man Froh moved that the Counc i I concur in the se I ect i on of the firm of Fehr & Granger as architects for the Library building, and that the Council authorize the ,I
