<br />, . <br />i <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC <br />UPON PORTIONS OF RANCH TO MARKET ROAD 12 IN <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS FROM LOOP 82 TO INTER- <br />STATE 35 THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CERTAIN <br />MAXIMUM SPEEDS AND FOR PARTICULAR SECTIONS OF <br />THE SAID HIGHWAY ENUMERATING THE SECTIONS THERE- <br />OF WITHIN THE MAXIMUM SPEEDS; FIXING PENALTIES <br />FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORD- <br />INANCE; PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE; REPEALING <br />ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT HERE- <br />WITH; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; <br /> <br />SECTION I. This Ordinance is and shall be deemed an exercise <br />of the police power of the State of Texas, and the City of <br />San Marcos, for the public safety, comfort, convenience and <br />protection of the City and citizens of said City, and all of <br />the provisions herein shal I be construed for accomplishment <br />of that purpose. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person in <br />charge or control of or operating any vehicle to propel. or <br />drive or operate such vehicle on or upon certain sections of <br />highways within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, <br />at a greater rate of speed than is here~nafter set forth in <br />connection with such sections of said highways: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I. R.M. Highway 12 <br /> <br />a. For East Bound Traffic <br />From Loop 82 (Station 49+13.3) easterly to <br />Station 65+00, a distance of 0.301 mi Ie - <br />a maximum speed of 35 mi les per hour. <br /> <br />From Station 65+00 easterly to Station 90+00, <br />a distance of 0.473 mi Ie, - a maximum speed <br />of 45 mi les per hour. <br /> <br />From Station 90+00 easterly to the west curb <br />line of the west frontage road of I .H. 35 <br />(Station 114+69.1), a distance of 0.468 mi Ie - <br />a maximum speed of 40 mi les per hour. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />For West Bound Traffic <br />From the west curb line of the west frontage <br />road of I.H. 35 (Station 114+69.1) westerly, <br />a distance of 0.468 mi Ie to Station 90+00 - <br />a maximum speed of 40 mi les per hour. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />From Station 90+00 westerly to Station 65+00, <br />a distance of 0.473 mi Ie - a maximum speed of <br />45 mi les per hour. <br /> <br />From Station 65+00 to Loop 82 (Station 49+13.3) <br />a distance of 0.301 mi Ie -- a maximum speed of <br />35 mi les per hour. <br /> <br />~ <br />U <br />;..;:l <br />~ <br />~ <br />
