I t was stated that the ne", extens i on of RM 12 might have taken some of the traffic off the access roads. James Sterling spoke on how the problem is handled in Austin. Alderman Whi'ttenberg moved that, the Counci I request the Highw~yD~pt. to make anoth- er traffic count on access roads within San Marcos, and see if it might be possible to change the traffic pattern back to two-way traffic. Alderman Damon sec- onded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: . I AYE; NAY: Damon, Froh, Pool, Korff, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried. Alderman Froh said it might be beneficial to ask leg- islators to assist In getting the problem solved. He moved that Senator Herring, Rep. Fletcher and Herb Petry, Chairman of the Highway Commission, be contacted on the matter. I t was agreed by common consent that this action should be taken. Wh il e talking to the owner of this parcel of land, Mr. Major's attention was called to other violations in the subdiv- ision. The main violation was the erection of a chain link fence on City property in front of various lots. The encroachment varies from a few feet to the entire portion between the property line and the curb. I
