Mr. Cal"ney said he was sUl"e the Bishop wouid considel" a swap. Alderman Damon moved that the Advisory Board ask the Bishop to come back to the Coun- ci f with a proposal. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion. MI". Jay suggested the Counci I make a proposal on the price to take to the Rishop: DA dol larto $50,000D. Father Tl"evino said the church would like to have title to the property, or they would face the bui Iding on Riverside. DFacing it on Hopkins has only aesthetic valueD, he said. Father Trevino also said if the land wel"e deeded to the church, the Bishop would be wi I ling to agree that it would never be sold fol" a shopping center. Alderman Whittenberg said; "Are we talking about selling or~? The question being cal led for, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None I The Mayor declared the motion cal"ried. Father Trevino thanked the Counci I for the opportunity given everyone to express an opinion. St. John's dele- gation left the Counci I Room at 9:45 p.m. The Mayor read aloud a petition for annexation of prop- erty belonging to J.M. Johnson. Counci Imen were shown the location of the property on a plat. Alderman Pool moved acceptance of the petition. Alderman Korff second- ed the motion and on 1"0\ I call, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried, Alderman Damon introduced a Resolution and moved its adoption.
