The Resolution was read aloud and is <br />made a part of the Minutes. Alderman Damon second- <br />ed the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Council, by common consent, approved the Mayor's <br />appointment of Mrs. Buford Wi I Iiams to the Citizens <br />Advisory Board. <br /> <br />The Mayor reopened the matter of the park land. <br />Alderman Damon moved that the City accept the offer <br />of St. John's Parish Advisory Board to purchase 3.62 <br />acres of park land for $10,000, subjeit to the opin- <br />ion of the City Attorney that al I st~uatory require- <br />ments be met. Alderman Pool seconded the motion. <br />Alderman Whittenberg said the City Attorney had al- <br />ready given an opinion on the Counci I's legal abi I ity <br />to sell park land. He quoted the City attorney's <br />statement that the park land would have to be abandon- <br />ed before it could be sold. Alderman Damon withdrew <br />his motion, with consent of the seconder. There was <br />further discussion. Alderman Damon moved that the City <br />abandon the 3.62 acres of park land as being of no fur- <br />ther benefit to the City. Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion. There was further discussion. The question <br />being cal led for, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />-I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Poo I <br />Whittenberg <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff moved that the 3.62 acres of park land <br />be offered to the highest bidder. A I derman Wh i tten- <br />berg seconded the motion. Alderman Damon said he felt <br />the Counci I, by its previous action, was sti II committ- <br />ed to negotiate with St. John's Church. There was <br />lengthy discussion. Alderman Pool moved that the motion <br />be tabled, and the Council move on to other business. <br />Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion and on rol I call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />Froh <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Alderman Korff introduced an Ordinance annexing the <br />J.M. Johnson property, and moved its adoption. Pet- <br />ition for the annexation had been received at a pre- <br />vious meeting.
