<br />regular meeting, may 9, 1966 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a petition from Garland Stokes, <br />requesting annexation of certain property in Westover. <br />Counci Imen examined the plat which accompanied the <br />petition. Alderman Pool moved that the Counci 1 accept <br />the petition. Alderman Froh seconded the motion and <br />on rol I call, the following vote was recorded; <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed. <br /> <br />A I derman Korff moved that the Counc i I rat i fy the F i nanc i a 1 <br />Advisory Contract with Gene R. Rourke, authorized represen- <br />tative for Ranson & Co., Inc. Alderman Froh seconded the <br />motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY; <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed. The City's executed <br />copy of the contract is attached as a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a plat of laurel Estates for <br />consideration and examination of the Counci I. Mr. Wolff <br />reported that the Planning & Zoning Commission recommend- <br />ed that the Counci I approve the plat. Alderman Korff <br />moved that the Counci I approve the plat, on recommendation <br />of the Planning & Zoning Commission. Alderman Damon second- <br />ed the motion and on roll ca", the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read a letter from D.C. Greer, State Highway <br />Engineer, regarding I 35 access roads in San Marcos. <br />Mr, Greer stated again the safety factors which influenced <br />the Highway Department's decision to make the access roads <br />one-way. He suggested that the City of San Marcos appear <br />at a public hearing at the June 9 meeting of the Highway <br />Commission. The Mayor asked the City Secretary to make an <br />appointment for a San Marcos delegation to appear before the <br />Commission on June 9. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced the subject of the speed of trains <br />through San Marcos. He referred to an ordinance passed by <br />the Counci I in 1933, when Charles R. Ramsay was Mayor. <br />The matter was discussed. The Mayor asked the City Manager <br />to get in touch with rai Iroad officials and see what could <br />be worked out on the problem. Mr. Serur expressed the opin- <br />ion that a study should be made of the local situation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Amendment to an Ordinance providing <br />for Social Security for the firemen. Mr. Serur explained <br />that Pub I i eWe I fare had requested that the name of B. R. Fu II er <br />be deleted from the Ordinance, since he was no longer City <br />Manager. Alderman Damon moved adoption of the Ordinance <br />Amending the 1965 Ordiance. Alderman Korff seconded the motion. <br />Caption of the Ordinance, read in full, is as fol lows: <br />
