Counci Imen examined the plat which accompanied the petition. Alderman Pool moved that the Counci 1 accept the petition. Alderman Froh seconded the motion and on rol I call, the following vote was recorded; AYE: NAY: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None I The Mayor declared the motion passed. A I derman Korff moved that the Counc i I rat i fy the F i nanc i a 1 Advisory Contract with Gene R. Rourke, authorized represen- tative for Ranson & Co., Inc. Alderman Froh seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY; Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion passed. The City's executed copy of the contract is attached as a part of the Minutes. The City Manager presented a plat of laurel Estates for consideration and examination of the Counci I. Mr. Wolff reported that the Planning & Zoning Commission recommend- ed that the Counci I approve the plat. Alderman Korff moved that the Counci I approve the plat, on recommendation of the Planning & Zoning Commission. Alderman Damon second- ed the motion and on roll ca", the fol lowing vote was recorded: II AYE: NAY: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor read a letter from D.C. Greer, State Highway Engineer, regarding I 35 access roads in San Marcos. Mr, Greer stated again the safety factors which influenced the Highway Department's decision to make the access roads one-way. He suggested that the City of San Marcos appear at a public hearing at the June 9 meeting of the Highway Commission. The Mayor asked the City Secretary to make an appointment for a San Marcos delegation to appear before the Commission on June 9. The Mayor introduced the subject of the speed of trains through San Marcos. He referred to an ordinance passed by the Counci I in 1933, when Charles R. Ramsay was Mayor. The matter was discussed. The Mayor asked the City Manager to get in touch with rai Iroad officials and see what could be worked out on the problem. Mr. Serur expressed the opin- ion that a study should be made of the local situation. I The Mayor introduced an Amendment to an Ordinance providing for Social Security for the firemen. Mr. Serur explained that Pub I i eWe I fare had requested that the name of B. R. Fu II er be deleted from the Ordinance, since he was no longer City Manager.
