He said he felt it was excessive, es- pecial Iy for a young man starting in business. Dr. Pool asked if the new ordinance had been writ- ten to bring San Marcos into line with other cities. The City Manager said the fees,etc., were in line with those in the surrounding towns. The ordinance was discussed further. Alderman Korff moved adoption of the Ordinance, attached as a part of the Minutes. Alderman Froh seconded the motion and on rol I cal" the following vote was recorded: I AYE: NAY: ABSTA IN ING: Froh, Korff, Pool None Whittenberg The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. The Mayor introduced an Ordinance and read the caption: AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A FIRE PREVENTION CODE PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE OR EXPLOSION, AND ESTABLISHING A BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION AND PROVIDING OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DEFINING THEIR POWERS AND DUTIES The Mayor said this Ordinance complied with the National Code. Alderman Pool moved adoption of the Ordinance, attached as a part of the Minutes. I The City Manager explained that when it was dedided that an "R-2" (Duplex) classification should be provi~ed. in the Zoning Ordinance currently in effect, it required so many changes throughout that it was necessary to rewrite the ordinance.
