Rader came before the Council to discuss sew- <br />er lines for houses he has constructed and sold on <br />Nichols Street. He said he has seven 'ots remaining <br />which are not on the sewer. He proposed that he pay <br />$400 tap fee for each sewer connection, to enable ~~e <br />City ~o~xtend sewer l~nes. The City Manager said <br />profiles .of the terrain had been run, and the pro- <br />posal was feasible from the City's viewpoint, and <br />that acceptance of Mr. Rader's proposal would el- <br />iminate the necessity of septic tanks for the re- <br />maining lots of the development. Alderman Damon <br />asked about the possibi lity of getting other prop- <br />erty owners to tie onto the proposed sewer line. <br />Mr. Rader said there was a potential of 16 other <br />property-owners to tie onto the proposed line. <br />After discussion, Alderman Pool moved acceptance of <br />the proposal to extend the sewer Jine on Nichols St., <br />with Mr. Rader paying $400 per sewer tap for new hous- <br />es. Alderman Whittenberg seconded the motion and on <br />1'01 I calJ, the follow~ng vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />James L. Carney came before the Counc i I for approva I <br />of a plat of Spring Lake Estates V. He stated the <br />Planning & Zoning Commission had already approved the <br />plat. The plat was examined and discussed. Alderman <br />F roh moved approva I of the p I at. AI derman Damon sec- <br />onded the motion and On 1'01 I cal I, the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared th~ motion car~ied, and affixed <br />his signature to the plat. <br /> <br />Rodgers T. Storey came before the Counci I to discuss <br />his property at the intersection of Wat~r and Colo- <br />rado Streets, with reference to the'GNRP. He gave the <br />background on th~property, saying he had torn down the <br />old Texaco service station in order to build one that <br />would comply with standards set by the City and Urban <br />Renewal. With the change in planners, and other un- <br />foreseen ~ircumstances, the proposed plan of Marmon, <br />J Mok & Green would bring the C.M. Allen Blvd. through <br />his property. He offered to trade the City equal <br />footage on WatebStreet fop the a II ey; and requested <br />the Counci I to authorize the Building Inspector to <br />issue h~m a building permit fop h~s new station. He <br />said he had talked with Dr. McCrocklin, President of <br />South,,'est Texas State College, who had said he had no <br />objection to a service station built to the proposed <br />plan, across the street from the entrance to the.Col lege. <br />Counc i I men di scussed Mr. StoreY'8 proposa I' to deed the <br />City 80 feet in return for the al ley; The Mayor read <br />a letter just received from Robert Green of the plan- <br />ning firm engaged by the LocaJ Public Agency (Urban <br />Renewal), see attached.
