<br />I '8&' <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1965, F r i ends of the Library in San Marcos <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />initiated a drive for donations to bui Id a new public <br /> <br />library; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Library is bui It on City property, and is <br /> <br />operated and maintained by the City of San Marcos; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Dudley Johnson donated 40 shares of Texas <br /> <br />Uti I ities stock, and caused Certificate No. 283625 for <br /> <br />said stock to be issued to "San Marcos Library Trust"; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this bui Iding fund was not establ ished as a Trust, <br /> <br />but expended by the City of San Marcos to defray the cost <br /> <br />of construction: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br />That the Governing Body of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br /> <br />acting through its Mayor and City Secretary, authorize the <br /> <br />sale of said 40 shares of Texas Uti lities stock; and, <br /> <br />that the proceeds therefrom be applied to the construction <br /> <br />costs of the Library. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED th i s 24th day of October, A.D., 1966. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PL <br />;7 p" <br />/ ~-..~ c.eA~ <br />Ell is Serur <br />Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~ <br />.
