The plat attached to the petition Was exam- <br />ined, and the matter discussed. Alderman Pool moved that <br />the Counci I accept the petition for annexation. Alder- <br />man Froh seconded the motion, and on rol I cal I, the foll- <br />owing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a petition signed by property own- <br />ers on Bishop and Feldmont Streets. The petition stated <br />the two were one continuous street, and requested that <br />Feldmont be changed to Bishop.- The map was examined. <br />Alderman Damon moved that the name of Feldmont Street be <br />changed to Bishop Street. Alderman Pool seconded the <br />motion and on roll ca", the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor brought before the .Cou nc i I a statement from <br />the Urban Renewal Agency for the City's pro-rata pay- <br />ment of publ ic works improvements in the Chautauqua Hi I I <br />Project. After discussion, Alderman Pool moved that the <br />item. be tabled until an itemized statement of al I the <br />City's payments to Urban Renewal had been received, and <br />the whole matter clarified. Alderman Damon seconded the <br />motion, and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY.: <br /> <br />Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Di~cussion on the need for a Comprehensive Master P~~n <br />for,.the City of San Marcos was introduced by the Mayor. <br />Considered over a period of years,the Counc i Iwasi n <br />agreement.thai: a Comprehensive Plan isa basic necessi- <br />ty before San Marcos Can go forward with projects to be <br />undertaken with the Bond Issue. Alderman Pool offered <br />the following motion: "j move that the City of San Marcos <br />emp loy Lockwood, Andrews (1 Newnam, Inc., Consu It ing Eng- <br />ineers, to prepare a Comprehensive Master Plan for the <br />City, contingent upon the negotiation of a satisfactory <br />contract; that the City Manager be directed to advise <br />the Texas State Health Department of this acti0h; and, <br />further, that Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. be auth- <br />orized and directed to assist the City Manager in the <br />preparation and submittal, to the State Health Depart~ <br />ment, of an application for Urban Planning Assistance <br />in accordance with Section 701, Housing Act of 1954, <br />as amended." Alderman Damon seconded.the motion.
