Hargrove <br />of College Station, making application for a permit <br />to operate 20 bill i ard tab I es and 7 pi nba II mach i nes. <br />Mr. Hargrove ism~king arrangements to lease space <br />for the "Bobcat Recreation Center" in the proposed <br />Ted BreihanShopping Center; After discussion, <br />Alderman Po~l.moved approval of the application. <br />Alderman Froh seconded the motion and on roll ca1 I, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a contract to be executed <br />between the City of San Marcos and Pierce & Pierce, <br />Architects; Mr. Wolff said the contract had been <br />checked by the City Attorney, and he had checked the <br />charges, which were in line with AlA standards. <br />Alderman Pool moved that the Mayor be authorized to <br />sign the contract for the City. Dr. Pool moved that the <br />Project be named "Juan Veramendi", to commemorate a <br />prominent official, Juan Martin de Veramendi, who held <br />grants to the land on which the town of San Marcos was <br />la:idout. Dr. Pbolexplainedthat he had been Governor <br />of Texas and Coahui la during the Mexican period of Texas <br />history, and his daughter had married Jim Bowie.
