TEXAS, BY CHANGING A PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FROM 'ITS PRESENT ZONING AS "R". SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT, TO "CD, COMMERCIAL DISTRICT Mr, Froh read th" Q~i';jinanc" and moved its adoption, Alderman Damon seco~d the motion and on rol I cal I the fol lowing vote was recorded: I AYE; NAY; Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. Rhea, Merritt. representative of Ehrenborg Appraisal Co., appeared before the Council to give a progress report on the Tax Evaluation project being participated in by the County, City and School System. He displayed a map col- ored to show work accomplished. He stated his firm would complete the City'stax evaluatiorl in about two weeks, The Mayor thanked Mr. Merritt for the report and commended hi~ firm for being ahead ofschedule~ J.T. Brown, Executive Director of Urban Renewal, gave a report on the status of GNRP, with special reference to coordination with the flood control project of the. U,S. Corps of Eng ineers. Mr. Brown a I so reported on the cost I of widen i ng Guada I upe Street. as requested by the Cha i rman of the PI~nning & Zoning Commission at the Jan. 23 meeting. He read aloud a special report by Isom Hale & Associates, see attached. Among those who spoke to the discussion which fol lowed were Dr. Robert Walts, Chairman of the Urban Renewa I Agency and res ident of the area under discuss ion; R.C. Van Gundy, who spoke as a resident of the area con- cerned over the traffic problem being created by the ex- pans i on of Southwest Texas State Co liege, Mr. Van Gundy is also Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee. It was agreed by common consent that the City would not ask for a change, because of the cost and loss of time. The,Public Hearing on the SWTSC Expansion Plan was held in June" 1963, Mr. Brown suggested that when the Pub I i c Hear1ng is held on the GNRP, that every effort be made to have al I interested or involved p~ople present. The Mayor thanked Mr. Brown for the report. The Mayor introduced and r~ad aloud a petition for annexation of a portion of Clarke Avenue. He explained that it was necessary to annex this street in order to bring the Ham- ilton Brothers' property into contact with the City Limits I line. Alderman Pool moved acceptance of the petition for annexation. Alderman Damon seconded the motion and on ro II ca I I, the fo I 'low i ng vote was recorded: AYE; NAY: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool.
