<br />TIME WARRANTS
<br />
<br />The City of San Marcos, a municipal corporation in the
<br />County of Hays, State of Texas, for value received, acknowledges
<br />its indebtedness and hereby promises to pay to bearer, on or before
<br />the 15th day of February, 1968, the sum of Seventeen Hundred Dollars
<br />($1,700.00) in lawful money of the United States of America, with
<br />interest thereon from date hereof until paid, at the rate of 4~%
<br />per annum, payable on or before the 15th day of February, 1968,
<br />and annually thereafter on the 15th day of February of each suc-
<br />ceeding year for a total of four years, which interest is evidenced
<br />by a coupon or coupons attached hereto. Principal and interest
<br />are payable to the Girard Machinery & Supply Company at The First
<br />National Bank of San Marcos, in San Marcos, Texas, upon presentation
<br />and surrender of warrants and proper coupons, and the City Treasurer
<br />is authorized, ordered and directed to pay to the bearer of said
<br />warrants, said principal sum and interest as the same respectively
<br />mature. In the event that the sum or sums of money evidenced by
<br />this warrant and/or the annexed coupon or coupons shall not be
<br />paid at maturity, the same shall thereafter bear interest at the
<br />rate of 5% per annum until paid.

<br />This warrant is one of a series of four warrants of like
<br />date and tenor, except serial numbers and maturities, numbered
<br />consecutively from 1 to 4, inclusively, each of the denomination
<br />of $1,700.00, and each due, respectively, 1, 2, 3, and 4 years
<br />after date, aggregating $6,800.00, issued for the purpose of ev-
<br />idencing the indebtedness of said City of San Marcos for the pur-
<br />chase price of one used tractor-loader from said Girard Machinery
<br />& Supply Company, pursuant to an ordinance passed by the City
<br />Council of said City, which ordinance is of record in the minutes
<br />of said Council. Provided further that any one or more of said
<br />warrants may be redeemed by the said City of San Marcos at any
<br />time or times with interest to cease to run on the redeemed warrant
<br />or warrants from the date or dates of such redemption or redemptions.

<br />The date of this warrant in conformity with the above-
<br />mentioned ordinance is the 15th day of February, 1967.
<br />
<br />IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED AND RECITED that all acts, con-
<br />ditions and things required to be done precedent to, and in the
<br />issuance of this warrant and this series of warrants, has been
<br />properly done, has happened and been performed in regular and
<br />due time, form and manner as required by law; and that the total
<br />indebtedness of said City, including this warrant and the entire
<br />series of whichi,t is ,a part, does not exceed any constitutional
<br />statutory limitations; that a sufficient tax to pay the principal of
<br />and the interest on this warrant, and the series of which it is
<br />a part, has been levied for said purposes and will be annually
<br />levied, assessed and collected while said warrants, or any of them
<br />are outstanding.

<br />IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the City Council of the City of
<br />San Marcos, has caused the seal of said City to be affixed hereto
<br />and this warrant to be signed by the Mayor and countersigned by
<br />the City Secretary, and the interest coupons hereto attached to
<br />be executed by the signatures of said officials, as of the 15th
<br />day of February, 1967, and registered by the City Treasurer.
