R.tDr?>t'nf Jus r /I rc<V r'- We a:a tA&&e oitizens who live in olose proximity ot the pro- posed looation of a fire station on the oorner of Hopkins and Blanoo streets and there are others present who, likewise, have a real interest in this matter.frli:/)!fS<;/~" --I~ rfcu,( 4~~ ?-/~;{.m'l1 f ?r '?PJ IZ-E it /'1 71, ( '5'-0/,' up- First, let me make it olear that we ARE NOT here to protest I ;your recent aotion in the seleotion of this site, but we are here to ask that you reoonsider your decision and we make this plea to you bearing in mind the following points: We are fully aware that the state Fire Commission has said that we must have a new Fire Station w1th equ1pment that w111 handle the potential fires of our city: namely - a large ladder truok that oould be used if a f1re were to exist in one of the multi storied buildings that we have and will have in the future. However, we feel that this proposed location is not a suitable one for such a station and that a more suitable one could be found that will serve the oity much better and will eliminate some of the objectionable points connected with th1s locat1on. I understand that our raptdly grow1ng city has four basio traffic and pedestr1an problems. "Too many vehioles for existing streets, a pedestrian problem, I a park1ng problem and ant1quated traff1c 11ghts.
