regu I ar meet i ng, march 13, 1967 page five Dr. Pool gave a progress report on the Municipal Airport. He read aloud a proposed contract with Longhorn Flying Club and moved Counci I approval. Alderman Damon seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Froh, Korff, Pool, Whittenberg None I The Mayor declared the motion carried. Alderman Whittenberg read aloud a Public Hearing Notice published by the Planning & Zoning Commission. He asked if the property to be considered for rezoning were thes same property that had been proposed for the new fire station. The City Manager answered in the affirmative. Mr. Whitten- berg said it was his understanding that site had been aban- doned after the protests of concerned citizens at the Feb ruary 27 Counci I meeting. Alderman Damon recalled that he had made a motion to delay action on the site at Blanco and W. Hopkins for six months, The City Manager asked if it Was the Counci I's wish that the Planning & Zoning Commission not hold a hearing on the rezoning of that site. By common consent, the Counci I asked Mr. Wolff to with- draw the City's request for rezoning on the property at West Hopkins and Blanco, since the Council did not wish to consider the site for the proposed new fire station.
