Mr. Damon seconded the motion and on 1'01 I cal I <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Craddock, Flores, Korff, Pool, <br />Serur, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance passed on first reading. <br /> <br />Two petitions for annexation were introduced by the Mayor. <br />Dr. Pool read ~ petition fir annexat10n of propefty at <br />905 North LBJ Drive, signed by Dr. and Mrs. Pat Norwood, <br />and moved its acceptance. Mr. Damon seconded the motion <br />and on roll cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Craddock, Flores, Korff, Pool, <br />Serur, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a petition for annexation of property <br />at 918 Chestnut Street, signed by Mr. and Mrs. John Yarring- <br />ton. Dr. Pool moved its acceptance. Dr. Craddock seconded <br />the motion and on roll cal I, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Damon, Craddock, Flores, Korff,Pool, <br />Serur, Whittenberg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Th~ Mayor read aloud a letter f~om Luciano H. Flores, <br />newly-elected Counci Iman, in which he offered his resignat- <br />ion from twciboards to which he had been appointed by the <br />C~unci I. Mr. S~rur reminded Co~nci Imen th~treplacements <br />must be found for Mr. Flores' place on the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission and the Citizens Advisory Committee. He asked <br />Counci Imen Flores and Korff to submit names to the Counci I <br />for consideration at the next meeting. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter from James L. Warden, making <br />urgent request for improvement of Warden Lane. This resulted <br />in a general discussion of the streets leading to the hospital, <br />and ~hei~ need of repai~. Mr. Korff informed the Counci I that <br />the State was suing for a strip of property owned by an estate. <br />He said the property might be of use to the City in the widen- <br />ing of Thorp Lane. Dr. Pool said the City~hould buy it. <br />The City Manager eXplained that the exact boundaries of the <br />property are n6t known, and a survey would cost about $75. <br />Th~Mayor read aloud a letter received from the Texas Depart- <br />ment of Mental Health and Mental Retardati~n. see attached. <br />Dr. Pool moved that the City bid on the land .if it is found <br />to be adjacent to Thorp Lane. Mr. Flores seconded the motion. <br />Dr. Pool amended his motion, with the con~ent of the seconder, <br />to include that the property be checked, and a recommendation <br />made to the Counci I bn its pufchase.
