/!L~

~
I- of San-;A1arcos

POST OFFICE BOX 726/SAN MARCOS, TEXAS 78666/AC 612 392-2417

May 5, 1967

Honorable Mayor and City Council
City of San Marcos
San Marcos, Texas

Lady and Gentlemen:

The Planning and Zoning Commission wishes to make the following recom-
mendations:

I

A. The Commission feels that the needs of the City would be better
served if the Commission were increased from its present member-
ship of seven to nine members. This change would not only give
better representation but make it easier to obtain a quorum for
special meetings. If approval is given by the Council the By-
Laws will be amended accordingly.

B. The Commission recommends that the Council Land Committee nego-
tiate for the opening of Barbara Dr. through the Greendale and
Blanco Gardens Additions. The one-way traffic along the Inter-
state 35 Access Roads has created a problem in traffic flow which
could be improved by this action.

C. Since January 1, 1967, the Commission has acted on ten requests
for change in zoning. The Commission feels that such requests
will increase in the future, and recommends that a fee of $25
be charged to defray the cost of advertising the required Public
Hearing, secretarial work, postage, etc.

The Commission feels the above suggestions, if implemented, would benefit
the City, and requests that you give your approval.

CjlJrs truly,
J.E~
airman, P1 anning
and Zoning Commission

I

J EY / sw
