The Mayor proposed the name of Curtis Briggs as the eighth II member. On suggestion of Mr. Whittenberg, the Counci I gave common consent to the appointment. On the second recommendation, Mr. Damon moved that the Counci I land Committee investigate acquisition of the land needed to open Barbara Drive through the Greendale and / Blanco Gardens Additions. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion and on rol I call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Damon, F1ores, Korff, Serur, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried. The third recommendation being considered, Dr. Craddock moved that a fee of $25 be charged for a request of change of zoning. Mr. Korff seconded the motion, and on rol I cal I, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff,Serur. Whittenberg, None I The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor opened and read aloud bids from four local firms on a truck. Mr. Damon moved that the City Manager give the bids careful study, and make a recommendation at the next meeting. Mr. Flores seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock. Damon, Flores, Korff, Serur, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor read aloud a letter from H.Y. Price, jr., Presi- dent of the San Marcos Telephone Company, askingCounci I approval of Centrex rates for a new installation at SWTSC. The letter is made a part of the Minutes. The Mayor asked Mr. Price to explain the proposed system,' and the tentative schedule of rates. After discussion, Mr. Damon moved approval of the Centrex rates for SWTSC; as presented.
