Mr. Flores moved adoption of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Damon seconded the motion and on roll cal" the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Flores, Serur, Whittenberg None I The Mayor declared the Ordinance passed on first reading. Mr. Serur introduced and read aloud a Resolution author- izing the Mayor to sign a warranty deed to the Fredericks- burg property recently sold to H.Y.. Price, Jr. on a high bid of $5,111.00. The Resolution is mad~ a part of the Minutes. Mr. Damon moved approvaf of the Resolution. Mr. Flores seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol low- ing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Flores, Serur, Whittenberg None The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. The Mayor introduced and read aloud an ordinance annexing a portion of Furman Street. Mr. Flores moved adoption of the Ordinance,on first reading. The Mayor read aloud a letter from Chief of Police W.A, Dial, setting,forth the need for an ordinance governing traffic in connection with school buses ~perating within the City Limits. In the ensuing discussion, Mr. iloresquestioned whether such an ordinance would cause congestion of traffic. Chief Dial stated the Po I.i ce Department had been contro II i ng traff i c as regards bus traffic as set forth by State law, without a specific city ,ordinance to back it up. The State statute is for traffic outside the city limits. He sai~ he did not think such an ordinance would hamper traffic, it would just legal ize present pol ice action,. Counci Iman Damon moved that the City Attorney be requested to draw up such an ord inance.
