<br />regular meeting, november 7 & 8, 1968 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Councilman Dannelley moved adoption of the Ordinance <br />as an emergency. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion and <br />on roll call, the following vote was recorded, <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Rev. C. Eugene Jennings, Chairman of the Charter <br />Revision Commission, read a brief report. Mr. Jennings <br />gave an informal "parenthetical" report, with several <br />minor suggestions. He requested that the comments and <br />suggestians be passed on to the next Charter Revision <br />Commission, which, 1n accordance with provisions of the <br />1967 Charter, will be appointed in even-numbered years. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved that the Charter Revision Commission <br />Report be accepted~ Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor thanked Mr. Jennings for the report and for his <br />service as Chairman of the Commission which wrote the <br />Charter, made reference to his departure from San Marcos, <br />and said: "You have rendered a high service to the commun- <br />ity on your ~ork far the Charter, for "Bridge Builders" <br />and in many other ways. We regret to see you leave." <br />Mr. Jennings responded that the past four years had been <br />critical ones for San Marcos, and he was glad that he had <br />had the opportunity to be involved. He added: "I am <br />glad we have Richard Bean and I would like to praise this <br />Council for its ability to lead, and to follow, Richard Bean." <br /> <br />,I <br /> <br />W.W. Cox came before the Council to request free parking <br />space on three sides of the Square, Nov. 22-23, for an <br />automobile show being sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. <br />Dr. Craddock moved that the request for parking space be <br />granted. Dr. Pool seconded the motion, whic.h passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Zavesky, having been unavoidably detained, <br />came into the meeting. <br /> <br />The Mayor read a communication from the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission, see attached. Dr. Pool moved that the Council <br />approve the Planning & Zoning Com~ission's recommendation <br />that a request from Dangelene Garland to re-subdivide <br />Lots 6 & 7 in Blk. 1 of the A.G. McNaughton Addition, be <br />granted. CouncilmanSmi th seconded the. motion and on roll <br />call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur,. Smith <br />NAY: None <br />ABSTAIN: Zavesky <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br />
