Councilman Zavesky seconded <br />the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />By a unanimous vote of the Commissioners Court, the County <br />pledged 50% subsidy of the deficit of the cost of providing <br />ambulance service to San Marcos and Hays County. <br /> <br />Judge Smith asked the Mayor to appoint a committee from the <br />Council to study the County's expenditure on indigent care <br />in San Marcos, and to consider sharing in the cost. <br /> <br />The Mayor said he would appoint a committee at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Councilman Smith quoted figures on the cost of operating the <br />City Fire Department, which also serves the County. It costs <br />the City $90,000 a year to operate the Fire Department; 30% <br />of the alarms answered by the Fire Department are outside the <br />City Limits, and the County contributes $1800 a year to the <br />Fire Department.
