Details of the parks and <br /> <br />recreation structure will be finalized when the new director is <br /> <br />brought on board. <br /> <br />The elimination and consolidation of the above positions will <br />amount to the annual equivalent of approximately $81,000 per year <br />(See Figure 4). This does not include extra savings from <br />associated personnel benefits. This figure may be lowered <br /> <br />somewhat if additional outside legal services are needed in <br /> <br />any given year. <br /> <br />PHASE II <br /> <br />There are currently sixteen positions being funded by community <br />development funds. Of these positions, nine are also receiving <br />funding from other sources, such as our General and Utility Funds. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The total dollar amount which would have to be absorbed by these <br /> <br />other funds for these nine positions is approximately $50,000 per <br />year. This does not include related personnel benefits, but it <br />does provide a minimum guide to be used in making a comparison <br /> <br />with the changes proposed in Phase I. Additional savings on <br /> <br />the part of the City is a result of our desire to perform more <br /> <br />efficiently and better serve the citizens of San Marcos. <br /> <br />However, this does not mean that all positions which are <br />partially funded by community development will be needed when <br />the projects are completed. We will evaluate each position <br />funded in part or whole by community development programs and <br /> <br />-13- <br /> <br />. <br />
