RFA 210 -006 <br />■ Review and resolve exception items <br />They have automated tools that will inspect the quality of check images and will do more <br />extensive checks for duplicate items. If an item fails the image inspection, you will be notified via <br />e -mail. We will debit your account for an adjustment and you will need to deposit the original item. <br />Bank -by -Mail can be used if there is no Wells Fargo branch nearby. <br />6. What options does the City have in scanners for use with the process? Is this <br />equipment available through the contract? List the equipment required along <br />with its approximate cost(s). <br />We require the use of the Panini scanner purchased or leased from us. It is a batch feed scanner <br />and can process either 50 or 75 documents per minute. Wells Fargo did extensive testing on all <br />scanners and determined that the Panini scanner was the best available scanner in connection <br />with our services at this particular volume. We purchased 25,000 for use behind our teller lines. <br />We are offering our customers a very competitive price as a result of this bulk purchase. <br />We will provide the City initial scanner at zero cost. Any additional scanners will be provided at a <br />20% discount. <br />for Scanner Models and specifications as well <br />as Pricing details. <br />E. NON SUFFICIENT FUNDS PROCESSING ( "NSF") NSF checks paid to the City <br />are to be re- deposited for collection twice. Complete information will be provided on all <br />NSF returned items including name of the presenter and reason for return. All returned <br />checks from the City's accounts will be returned to the City in physical or electronic <br />form. The City will explore the option of the second presentment being made by ACH <br />(Representation of Checks "RCK ") in order to target dates for maximum collection <br />potential. Provide the following information: <br />1. Describe the applicant's current NSF process. <br />When a check deposited by the City is returned for non - sufficient funds, simply re- depositing the <br />check is often all that is necessary to collect the funds owed. Therefore, Wells Fargo provides <br />ways to ensure that returned items can be automatically re- deposited without any involvement by <br />your staff. <br />At Wells Fargo, we offer two services to automatically redeposit checks: Standard Redeposit <br />Service and Electronic Returns. <br />Electronic Returns (RCK) converts paper returns into Automated Clearing House (ACH) debit <br />entries. The higher collection rates mean lower manual collections costs. Additional features and <br />benefits of Electronic Returns are: <br />
