98 <br /> <br />SAN MARCOS CEMETERY <br />RULES AND REGULATIONS <br /> <br />SECTION 1. ADMiSSiON TO CEMETERY. The cemetery is open to the <br />public from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central $'tandard Time, and <br />7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time, seven (7) days <br />per week. A caretaker is on duty from Monday through Friday. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. INTERMENTS AND DISINTERMENTS. An application for <br />interment must be filled out before excavation can begin for a <br />burial. These applications may be picked up at the Cemetery. <br />The application must specify the exact location of the burial <br />space to be used. Disinterments will not be permitted without <br />proper authorization. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. PURCHASE OF LOTS OR MAU$~©LEUM ~CRYPTS. Persons wanting <br />to acquire multiple grave spaces and not being able to pay the <br />entire price may reserve the lots for a period not to exceed 90 <br />days. An account may be set up in the Accounting Department at <br />City Hall if a person wishes to pay the amount over an extended <br />per~od of time. The City will refuse interment on any lot for <br />which the full purchase price, including perpetual care, has not <br />been paid. The use of a concrete grave liner is required in all <br />sections where perpetual care is mandatory. A deed will not be <br />issued until full payment, including perpetual care, has been made. <br />A citizen may pay full price for one grave space~ if it is needed, <br />and make payments on the othsrs, if any. <br /> <br />'SECTION 4. TP<ANSFER OR ASSIGNMENTS. Transfer or assignment of <br />lots is prohibited except with written permission.of the City. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. REPURCHASE BY THE CITY. If a lot owner wishes to re- <br />sell a lot to the City, application may be made in the office of <br />the City Manager. The City will purchase a lot or crypt at ~the <br />price paid by the lot owner at the time of original purchase. <br /> <br />SECTION 6, UPRIGHT ENCLOSURE OF LOTS PROHIBITED. No enclosure, <br />such as a fence, coping, hedge, or ditch, shall be permitted around <br />any grave or lot in any addition. If any existing enclosure is <br />damaged so that it becomes unsightly or hazardous, repair or re- <br />moval must take place at owner's expense. <br /> <br />SECTION 3- CURBING. After obtaining a written permit from the <br />City Manager's office, curbing may be placed in any addition <br />except Dixon. Curbs must conform to the following specifications: <br /> <br />a. Only property for which a deed has been issued may be curbed. <br />b. Curbing mUst be level with the existing terrain. <br />c. Curbing is to be 18 inches wide, 6 inches is to be within <br /> the owner's property lines, 12 inches is to be in the City's <br /> easement. <br />d. If curbing is to surround lots that are a portion of a <br /> larger block, curbing will be only 6 inches wide and will not <br /> extend beyond the owner's property. <br /> <br />SECTION 8. MONUMENTS, MARKERS, AND DECORATION OF L©TS. No <br /> <br />memorial monuments-or grave marker (except the temp~a~yy marker <br />placed by funeral homes) will be ~llowed on any burial space <br />until the space has been fully paid and the deed delivered. Be- <br />fore a monument or marker may be erected, a permit must first <br />be obtained from the City Manager's office. The City assumes no <br />responsibility for correct location, and any changes ordered <br />by the owners will be made at their expense. No upright monuments <br />or markers will be allowed in the Dixon Addition or Sections "N" <br />and "M" of the Old Original Addition of the cemetery. Live plants <br />may be c~ltivated on any grave at any time except the Dixon Addi- <br />tion. Fresh cut floweres will be allowed at any time; but, they <br />will be removed within two (2) weeks, or if they bec~me unsightly. <br />Artificial flowers~ sprays, and wreaths will be allowed until <br /> <br /> <br />
