Special Meeting <br /> <br />September 8, 1981 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, James, Craddock~ Mendez and Norris. <br /> <br />NAY: Cavazos. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved that the Council adjourn to Executive Session pur- <br />suant to Article 6252-17, ~2(f), V.A.C.S., to discuss property acqui- <br />sition (at 8:25 p.m.) and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />At 9:10 p.m. the Council returned to the Council Chambers. Mr. James <br />moved to convene the meeting and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock instructed the Staff to <br />proceed with negotiations of property acquisition.* <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock advised the Council would not need to consider Item <br />12 on the Agenda, since the Staff had been advised to proceed with <br />negotiations. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading annexing approximately 153 acres of land out of the <br />J. M. Veramendi League Nos. 1 and 2 (includes Cape's Camp), the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS <br />TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 153 ACRES, <br />MORE OR LESS, OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. <br />1 AND THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. 2, SAID TRACT <br />LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF <br />SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUN- <br />DARIES; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY <br />SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID TRACT; GRANTING TO THE INHA- <br />BITANTS OF SAID TRACT ALL THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES <br />OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY; BINDING SAID INHA- <br />BITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES, RULES AND <br />REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mrs. <br />Norris seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cavazos, James, Mendez and Norris. <br /> <br />NAY: Craddock. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />Staff was instructed to' furnish st the next meeting the surrounding <br />property owners and maps showing the D and D Prime areas. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION.AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER <br />29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING TWO TRACTS OF LAND OUT <br />OF FARM LOT NO. 22 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, LOCATED IN THE 400 BLOCK OF NORTH GUADALUPE <br />STREET, FROM "D" (MULTI-FAMILY D~LLING DISTRICT) TO <br />"C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT). <br /> <br />* Mr. Brown left the meeting at 9:10 p.m. and did not return. <br /> <br /> <br />
